EK9 for tender(local)

The more i look at the car the worse my opinion of it is, i'd definately not pay any more than $3000

Yellow facelift came out late 1998. What does the VIN stamped to the bulk head (fire wall) say?
I think it was sold cheap sometime as a stripped car with no ID. Someone put it back together and just got a replacement second hand white front panel to repair accident damage. The VIN plate either came with front panel or just came from say eBay.
Dunx

I did. I wouldn't trust it as being a genuine EK9 personally.

Lots of bits that don't stack up, Dash, Sunstrip, Colour, stickers etc, looks like a very good replica more than anything or a dodgy crash repair

It's definately a genuine ek9 shell judging by the rear subframe, and has to be a 98 facelift as mentioned you don't get yellow pre's, looks like a it's been robbed of the clocks and black ek9 dash, seats etc... and just replaced with stock ek stuff. And of course been painted CW at somepoint. I find things like this very interesting, looks like a fun track style project to me :)

I also think that it has a genuine shell on it, but how about the VIN? It start with 100, so it should be pre facelift right.?

I called up my friend yesterday that know about the history to that 9. According to him, before the car was been confiscated, the previous owner want some parts back, so the officer gave them 20mins to removed any parts that he wants, so he remove the head, intake, seats, spoiler, rear n front lips, rims, muffler and gearknob, not sure about the cluster. I can agreed with you that the car has been resprayed n the side CTR decals were not original.

y dont u get someone fr paintshop to follow u there for an inspection of the paint & body? save your day guessing here & there...

looks like the airbags have previously been deployed.. this is one poor ctr.. bad condition
