I had a day off work today by default so thought I would make use of it by trying to get the car booked in for a few power runs to see how healthy she was.

There was no proof of her ever being dyno'd in the history so wasn't really sure what to expect. I got booked in at Clive atthowe's who is know for having a "conservative" dyno and let him do his thing.

She made 218.8bhp @8603rpm

Would explain why it has always felt a bit on the lively side!

Enjoy.....

Dyno sheets are pretty useless without a spec list?

Good power for a D14!

Nice figures mate, you would find some difference if you got your car mapped instead of using the spoon ecu..

Ben, thats sweet man. You near Norwich? I guess you got a 9?

I'm about 30 minutes from Norwich, yeah I've got a silver ek9.

I plan on giving romain a ring on Monday to see what he suggest but at the power it's made already I think its going to be hard to improve much on what I have without spending a fortune. Yeah the fuel could be smoothed out a little but it's doesn't run overly lean or overly rich at the minute so almost seems a waste of time but I shall see what he recommends.

I had planned on going down the itb route but again seems kind of pointless :/

If the car is running sweet mate if leave well enough alone, what itbs were you thinking on? There better mods to be done to a car first rather than itbs imo, although there nice sitting in the bay :nice:

What else would you suggest that I do before considering itbs/cams etc they do look so good sitting in the bay :naughty:

I'd be happy with that. Any pics of the car?

There's some pictures of her in my build thread :)

^ poser...

for a spoon ecu & basic mods it performs good
but with a custom tune it will be much faster !

that's SAD.. I made 240hp 197tq N/A in a mustang dyno.... PUMP GAS.....
LS-Vtec got boring and now I'm making 507hp 19 psi same engine...

You clearly know little or maybe nothing about dyno's and the figures they give by saying that. Also you had a built B20 running 13.?:1 iirc, you can hardly compare the two engines.

What is sad is when you claim your ek9 is a ek9, but isnt...

To the OP, nice results pal - bet you're chuffed with them :nice:

Nice result man plug and play ecu's are well good ! I managed 220 bhp on my old Glanza with a ct9 hybrid and a jam ecu at 1.1 bar
As said above you will possibly make more power with a mappable ecu and you may even get a better mpg.

Very nice result though

Yeah I think without looking at the sheets it's 171whp.

Yeah that's what I thought considering what's been done to it I can't complain, I'm hoping romain is going to twist my arm and convince me to have it mapped ;)

^^^^ can't help but laugh at that! To top it of there American figures so need to be taken with a pinch of salt :))
