DC2 exhaust fitment on EM1

Hi guys,

I am thinking of purchasing a Fujitsubo cat back system off a DC2:

I want to fit it to my EJ8 coupe which has the same chasis as the EM1. Is this possible? Will it bolt up correctly? Has anyone had any experience in using a DC2 exhaust on an EM1 or vice versa?

I would imagine some customization may be involved but not sure sorry.
 
I think the exhaust hangers have to be moved. I'm gonna try putting a DC2 exhaust on a saloon civic tomorrow, I think there pretty much the same fitment as coupe so will let you know how it goes

Yeh the coupe and saloon exhausts are identical I believe. Let me know how it goes, would be very helpful! :nice: I don't mind if it's just the hangers that have to be moved!
 
Josh, Went at fitting exhaust this evening, the bends are the same so no problems there and the hangers are very near just abit of heat and bend them to suit. Only problem I had was the guy I was putting the exhaust on for was using a Jap cat on his saloon and it was too short so he needs to get a UK cat which is longer and then it will bolt up just fine.

Ok, so it sounds like it should fit with a bit of work to make sure the hangers line up. I have a decat.....but it's a UK one...not JDM so I assume it should line up! How about the backbox, did it in an ok position with the bumper? Not hidden away, or sticking out a lot?

I personally believe that a DC2 exhaust will fit onto EM1 fine.
DC2 and DB8 have different exhausts, thats 2 door vs 4 door Integra....

I was hoping you'd post up! Think it was you I got it from that it will fit!

Have you done it before?
 
I've personally not done it before. From what I have read ITR and EM1 exhausts are the same?
So I would be suprised if it didnt fit at all.
But I guess I we'll find out soon ay?

How close are the hangers? any chance of a quick pic to see the difference of the hangers compaired to the Tanabe below?

Ill try organise taking a few pics when the car comes back to me for refitting, waiting on cat to fit exhaust before I can bolt it all up and bend hangers.

cool, that would be great. WOuld you manage a side by side pic also?

Takign a guess do the hangers need bent in/out roughly how much? 20mm 50mm 100mm?

Modified mid pipe???? that piece looks straight!!! :S no knocking?
 
Vtec600 - Is there any chance you could also take a photo of the fitment at the rear bumper, ie how it protrudes etc. Want to be sure the length is suitable as well as the hangers.

Yeah ill try get some pics of that. Not sure when the car will be back to me could be another week or two as he is trying to source a cat. The last day when we lined it up (as best we could) under its standard exhaust which was still fited, it looked like I might have to weld a piece of pipe in to extend the back box out so the tail pipe would stick out past the bumper. Will let you know exactly once its done.

no worries, thats great. Is there much difference between the saloons and Coupes?
 
In order to get the DC2 skunk2 catback to fit the saloon civic it had to be cut and joined in the middle section and past the rear lower control arm on the car in order to bring it out past the bumper. Now this may not be the case when fitting on the coupe or for another saloon just with this one we had installed a b18c ITR engine in it so the JDM cat was shorter than the UK spec vti cat.
