lol, thats going to cause some upsets lol, i do agree tho, dc2 is better in a few ways,
think its better as it was produced before the ek9 and it was honda's "baby" at the time, doubt they would want to out do them selfs with the introduction of the ek9

haha, stock for stock DC2 is better. But potential wise, EK9 atw! Especially with a 1.8 :nice: Thats what I meant to say ;)

yeah exactly:nice: with a b18c the ek9 would of out done the dc2, maybe honda didn't want to out do themselfs.

I have driven both ek9 and 98 spec r dc2, and the ek9 has a reasonable amount of better handling. Ofcourse the itr has more torque, but cornering at high speeds has to go to the ek9, I guess its because it has a longer wheelbase why it handles better than the itr. The itr's rear end tends to slide more easily in corners than the ek9. But i personally think that the itr corrects oversteer more easily.

ive owned both and even though i prefer the ctr overall i will admit the teg handles better.understeers less oversteers less and just feels more planted in very high speed cornering.

I have drove my COUSINS UKDM TEG and can say my EK9 handles better, quite similar though :)

Better stability at speed. Look at F1 cars, hardly SWB are they! :D

since the teg is based in an eg chassis, the ek9 one must be more solid right? Does anyone know the alignment specs of both cars? Maybe there is the difference in handling. The ek9 (98spec) must be lighter right?

the steering on the teg feels lighter if you know what i mean (had a teg in between the 9's) ,i don't like the way this feels to drive so its the 9 for me.
just realised this is an old thread lol.

iv owned both and my ex had an ek9 too. the ek9 on the limit handling is better than the itr for the way i drive. but buy no means is it a big margin

my ek9 has my old itr motor in it and with this engine the ek9 is an amazing drive!

if they had the same horsepower output the ek9 would kill a dc2 round a track

And thats the answer we were looking for! If the DC2 R does have the edge then I truly believe its just the extra bit of torque pulling it around the corners, that is why on the sharp twisties the EK9 feels just that little bit better.

Honda definately didnt want to put the B18c into the EK9 because the Integra's are there debut cars - they could not have a civic being faster!

The evidence is in the engines they are both identical except the internals and stroke! Just to make manufacturing easier and rob the EK9 of that little bit more horsepower and torque!

Josh..

I have to agree with you, but I'd still love to see 1 experienced driver taking both to a track and maybe also on a road course.

EK9 has a longer wheelbase, wider track and shorter overhangs..........

Depends though if we are talking standard or modified, with alot of work the EK9 can be made to handle OUTSTANDING

was out in StevenEk9's (Ek9) a couple of months ago...went on the Same road with a 98 spec Dc2 a few days later!!!

Stevens car was Guled to the road where as the Dc2 felt a bit Twitchy..!!

we werent going slow ither...were we Steven?? haha

I have driven both around the same stretch of back roads with plenty of testing corners... Personally I preferred the DC2 ITR 98 spec but I did own it and was used to the handling were as I only drove the CTR a couple of times as it was a mates car...

Also, the CTR was fairly stock, my DC2 had fully adjustables...

theres a video on youtube , i think its best motoring or temple of vtec , anyway they are driving several different cars around the same corner including , the dc2 and ek9 , and the ek9 was the fastest around the corner . ive driven an ek9 on backroads and thought it was GREAT !!!!
