Well trust me if he comes on here trying to hand out threats it won't be tolerated. You can not sue someone for telling the truth.

i've talked two 4 people over the past three days who have had honda's mapped off him and have been very unhappy with the work and really unhappy with there after sales service.




thats bull ****. the amount of pm's that **** sends to people saying he will sue them is off the wall. at the end of the day if u know ur rights and know what ur saying he can't sue anybody.


he sent me a message on dtd saying he would sue me for asking did he map somebodys car. i told him to f**k off and if he pm'd me again i'd get onto an admin about him harrising me. i haven't heard from him since

exactly the turth is the car wasnt mapped correctly and if it wasnt for dyno day it could have went anytime
the engine build wise was ok but mapping wise was poor :angry: and its what makes a engine a engine:drive:


but all being said it WILL be better than it was before and iam going to track it etc

sorry for a slight hi jack of the thread . but simply if someone puts up a thread on here of their expirience with a tuner whether it be good or bad they cannot have legal action taken against them as it is simply your expirience with a company/person ??
 
exactly its a public forum to view your opinion and if its stops one engine being mapped to the standard mine was then good it was worth it

people really need to look into mappers as ive realised now that its more important than who builds it
 
Libel action is extremely pricey as you can't get legal aid for it iirc, only really for big business not small business' like these garages would be as they wouldn't be able to afford it. It's also difficult to prove, from what I've been told, as they have to prove it's you doing the typing, that they lost money because of it etc.

So don't worry about getting sued over forum comments.

Exactly. You can not be sued for telling the truth even if it gives a very negative reflection of a company. If you have good reasons to believe it is true then trying to sue you for Slander isn't going to stand up in court and most legal teams would advise against it unless there was some very solid evidence that what you were saying was known to you to be un-true. Taken from a law document "the truth is a perfect defense to slander" It is NEVER slander if you tell the truth.

You could actually bring a countersuit against the company for malicious prosecution if they brought you to court for slander and there case was unsuccessful so not a wise move for them to take you to court unless there is some hard evidence to prove what you said was un-true and known to be un-true by you.

you have to really watch out for tuners as many have said .
 
J700OCK is there a juicy story for us? I remember reading on some of your other posts that you've had a few problems with your ITB build before you sold up.

Yea I heard alot of storys to.. I guessing you be talking about my friends ek9 and the dc5.. Neither at all happy with tdp.. The dc5 was so bad he put back in the standard ecu.. I know if I ever get a tuneable ecu it wont be mapped by them lads
 
This thread is juicy! Lots of hidden undertones, been a victim of poor mapping in the past, very expensive and a real pain. Good luck with the build.
 
sad to hear that i aint the only person its worth it all in the end if it puts a smile on are faces

I was considering getting my car mapped there at tdp few months back but didnt go with it at the last min. There are a few good stories about his maps on track cars and prob 1 or 2 cars in ireland that i know of have good tunes off him and anytime anyone asks about mapping he refers back to those same cars, he does not allow critisism on the main irish website dtdirl.com and on that site the admin run with their tail between their legs when he threatens legal action and threads get locked etc. This was what put me off. Having read this I have saved alot of hardship with him. I got my fuelling adjusted elsewhere and am really happy with it and confident the thing wont blow up LOL.

Also how he threatens people with legal **** is to frighten people for his bad work. If he is doing it to the degree that its on here and he done the same with my best mate too....his aftersales service and attitude in general is pure muck. Im deffo avoiding this company in the future with my pride and joy.

well i got told today that i get my car back for the weeked :) so il have to raise it a bit as the manifold it about 2 inches of the ground and it got crushed so had to get it repaired
 
yeh leighs old

car has been a nightmare but everything is finally sorted out just silly wee add ons that i want to do

love the yellow "9" btw honda should have added yellow recaros

Yellow on yellow would be nice, then again there is too much yellow going on lol
