b18 turbo spec


Lol integra van, defo needs turbo sorted out and the kit put in the bin
 
the bodykit is awful, so are the wheels, mirrors the spoiler should be burnt why are the back 2 in white like a van and mostly HKS parts which a expensive and an extra 35 bhp which he probablt lost with all the extra weight and that spoiler doesnt look very aorodynamic :nono: :nono::nono:
 
if I'm looking at the correct plots (ie not color blind), AFRs are ok for the boost.

it's boosting low, that's why it's low on power. uprating the injectors and turning the boost up would wake that thing alot more. 4 to 5-ish psi is just really wasting your time with the turbo :)

not a fan too with the looks, but that's another story...

lol! exactly what I told him, all that weight then hardly any boost, no wonder it doesnt feel quik and he is only running high 14's on the strip! :( Hopefully he will sort it soon! cheers

Have you got any close up shots of the turbo and the inlet pipe for it . Just for referance purposes . see how tight the pipe work is to the radiator , i know my rad is bigger lol :nice:

I can't recommend any boost settings yet as
1.) I'm not sure if the block is built or what
2.) It's not indicated/I can't see what turbo was used

but definitely 4-5 psi is lacking :)

1.) block is totally standard.
2.) All I know about the turbo at the min is its a Garret turbo, when I get pics for Wishy it should shed some more light.

right my mate eventually got this tuned at TDi north. They tried to put a map on the HKS f-con but couldnt do it so he went with an S300. Think he got about 260bhp out of it which still isnt the most. he fitted an updated fuel pump and bigger injectors too.

I will get pics up of the graphs so you can all have a look an give some comments on them.

He is having a prob with his map sensor tho and looks like he needs a new one. Where can he get an uprated one as I believe the OEM one is only good for 5psi whereas he is running about 9psi??

Its actaully for sale on gumtree now as well!
 
You should be able to run up 9psi with the stock map sensor. If you need one that will read a higher psi then tell him to take a look on ebay. But bear in mind he will need it tuning again.

Try and find out what bhp and psi he was pushing. 260 isnt that impresive for a b18c. I'm going to be running mine at around 300 when i finally get chance to finish it.
 
The cheapest option would be a GM 3 bar MAP sensor , Should beable to get one on ebay as rich777 says . But it will need to be relocated . Worth while posting on here to see if anyones got one , Got mine on here for a good price .

Omni power do proper ones that fit in the OEM space but there a fair bit dearer.

Nice I will let him know that as he can get a hold of a stock one no probs! It will be a nightmare if he needs it tuned again as its a trek for him but it would be worth it.

Yea I am meeting him tonight to get a copy of his graphs and I will post them up. Yea the power is not that great for a B18c turbo, there is obviously something keeping it back! But bear in mind its a totally stock engine except for the turbo, ecu and injectors. think its just running a 2" exhaust too which doesnt help!

Not sure at all mate, think it keeps firing different codes up! Yea the exhaust is restricting it, I told him to get a 2.5" custom system like mine made! Yea I have told him that so best to get it all done at the same time!
