Anyone used or is using Nankang NS2?

Got them on the rear of the road wheels for the barge mate. Not dead yet so they must be reasonable. As for an alternative i have Falkens on the vrs which i used for that trackday when the barge would not move. Not sure of the exact model (will look!) but they did better than i ever hoped they would and the fronts lasted well over 10,000 miles (still got rears fitted). Good wet weather performance too.

Perhaps you should have asked for tyre opinions from matching car owners (ep3) then maybe you would not have got all these wonderful and varied opinions!

I just got hankook ventus s1 on the civic. £70 a corner for 16", there a good tyre and I feel a lot safer after I got rid of paradas

Haven't really read through. But daily, they'd be fine. If you want to by any means drive in a "spirited" manor. Look else where, had a set of 16's of these on EK, Dung is an understatement, especially in the wet. Jesus.

I call the nankang NS2 tyre the "dieyoungs" and so does my bro, I had them on my car when i bought it, f*cking shocking tyre, avoid at all costs.

Nakangs are ditch finders

Dunno why you're slating the spec 2s though matt, i've had to hard brake in the wet a few times without abs with them and they've been fine, just don't drive like a tool in the wet haha

But yeah. i'd avoid the ditch finders as i'd personally place nakangs along with kwik fit cheap junk

Better buying T1Rs or something cheap that are at least half decent

I already no the answer and the type r forum is not as welcoming if i am honest.

Just thought i would see what people opinions where on these tyres as i was considering these.

Nankangs £180 for 4
T1R £290
PX4 £260
Falkens £260

I am considering the Uniroyal Rainsport 2s in that sort of bracket, people seem to rate them very highly, a set of 205/55/16 is going to set me back around £260 from camskill and thats with a £27 'Isle of Wight bum rápe tax' delivery charge.

dont really drive like a tool, but after seeing my mate spin his car in the damp on paradas all round (not driving silly either) i dont trust them.

Ian where are you looking for tyres? those prices seem steep

If they are for your daily, then i'd go for it. i have a mondeo daily and it gets the shittest tyres i can find...which usually means part worns from a traveller down the road, LOL!

To answer your question though, to compare a nankang tyre to ****, would be unfair on the ****, they are that bad.

Another vote here for RS2's. I have them on my Integra and there ideal for a daily with great traction in the wet and only £40 a side in 195/50/15.

there **** and so are t1r's,budget hankooks would be a better option

x2

nankang are of superior turd as well as the T1R's, drift boys love the nankangs as they offer so little grip and because they're dirt cheap.

T1R's are actually fairly decent on the ep3. Pile of w@nk on the 9.

Pretty sure it down to the reduced side wall height.

I think the OP has heard enough about the NS2 lol

This would be my choice; Federal SS595, £50/tyre delivered, best bang for your buck, although I wouldn't fit it to an EK9 but would be fine for your daily. You can get quieter tyres, but as far as genuine budget 'performance' tyres go it doesn't get any better than this at the price.

FEDERAL SS-595 205/40 R17 80W Tyre - 17" from Tyre Wizard UK

That's seem much more like the thing I'm after.

Thanks and great price too.

shop around, you maybe able to find them cheaper, that was just he first link I found when I googled. If you wanted to save a little extra you could consider the SS535, they're still a reasonable tyre, although the side wall design isn't the nicest and I'm not sure whether its available in 17".

yes fellas ive just put 4 ns2 on my ek3 last wk and now it handles like sh*t, understeers on roundabouts and cornering at normal speeds in the dry!, gettin bit concerned bout usin dem in da wet now, car wallows cornering and leaves the steering too light and vague, just horrible. Had far more grip and definately more sharpness with no roll with my near 5 yr old stunner tyres that i replaced with these crap.
