Anyone have the Eibach sportline springs?

Second picture is 195/50/15 and the first picture is 175/70/13. And i would have liked it if you didnt bring my name up when complaining about the springs, that has caused me hassle. My springs look OK they just need more miles on them. The springs have done about 30 miles. I'll give it a good run at the weekend and see if there is much difference. If not then i'm snookered! Lets hope AZ will give me my money back! If it has dropped to the height it should be then i'll keep them on until i get money for coilovers, but that isn't the priority at the moment.

Sorry mate didn't mean to cause you any hassle:(( Yep you payed for a 50mm drop and thats what you should expect. Any less and I wouldn't be happy. I got my front ones fitted yesterday and have already covered about 20miles. I have about a 2/3 finger arch gap. Back ones should be fitted friday and alloys should be back on so will give it untill the end of next week to settle and hope to have small arch gap like lukes em1.

How it should sit :nice:
Eibach Pro Kit FTW

Im nearly sure that I asked the previous owner of the silver ek9 how it sat so low on an eibach pro-kit and he told me that he cut coils off each spring. Pro-kit does not sit as low as that

My sportlines already seem to be getting slightly lower, I will post more pics up in a while to compare to my 1st pics. Mine is also def sitting lower than the burgandy ek pictured above

yeah bought it off dazek9 on here. cutting a coil off the springs dont sound too good?

Yes dazek9 was the guy who told me that he had cut coils off his eibach pro-kit to get the car to sit that low. The prokit only lowers the ek 35mm and your ek9 is down at least 50-55mm

Cutting the coils is a bad idea as it makes the car more bouncy and the springs less stable in the shock mounts. The way civic shocks are designed, if the coils were cut neatly at the top of the spring they wouldn't sit too bad as the shock top mounts actually go over the 1st coil and have thick rubber inserts. This is not ideal and I would not reccomend it to anyone.

I was also thinking about the other users who think they may have problems with their sportline kits. My question is did you remember to cut the bump-stops down in size as stated in the kit to allow for the lower height?

Just trim the bump stops down 1 notch from the bottom as the kit states.

Then get sum :pics: up of your springs re-fitted properly at the front

Mine seem to be getting a tiny amount lower, it sits perfect at the front now but the back needs to come down at least 10mm to make it sit right.

A question for accessory zone is are the kits you sold us different for the hatchback than for the coupe civics?

^^ x2, are they the same for hte coupe? My back sits way too high...

I can only find 1 part number and its

Part no 4.1740 - 2door & 4door

They probably are the same springs then. SPek9 have you cut the bump stops?

Will do tommorow mate :) Hows your looking now?

Pics?

Mine looks basically the same as when I 1st put them in, I think I was trying to convince myself that they were getting lower lol!
The front is fine but the back sits too high and I can just get 3 fingers between the top of the tyre and the arch. On the front I can barely get 1 finger between the tyre and arch!

This is what confuses me as the front lowered straight away but I dont think the rear is any lower than standard which is not right at all!!!:(

Will post some when I get back from uni :) The front on mine has about 2finger arch gap but the back sits wah too high! My 35mm springs I had before these which weren't too expensive sat lower :nono:

Looking at your pics bud and yours is prob about the same height as mine atm but my 16s fill the arch gap a little better. Did your 35mm springs settle straight away?

These springs are not doing what they are supposed to do as in lower the car 50mm! My rear is sitting easily as high as it was standard ant the front has dropped about 30mm.

To accessory zone, would you be able to refund these springs even in exchange for a different set in your range and send them back to eibach as faulty? We can provide pics to show the problem. The rear springs need to settle at least 45mm and the front 20mm and we know that there is no way that is going to happen:(

the eibach springs for ek civics weren't designed for the ek9, they sit more like they should (50mm in your case) when the shocks are upgraded. You should of been told that there would be an uneven drop from front to the rear on standard ek9 shocks
