Anyone have the Eibach sportline springs?

^^^^^^^^^Yeah redo all 4 lol. But im suprised you havent heard any TWANG like noises due to the spring not in its proper seating position.....

Ross.c bought the eibach sportlines and he had no drop at all. Since then i've heard of a few cases in which this has happened. I certainly won't be happy if these don't drop my car 50mm all round. Bon87, would you happen to know where luke bought his springs from?

Same place. xsrezone.com

Ross has done all of 5 miles on his car since the springs have been fitted to the car. It has dropped down from stock height but he needs to get some miles on it to get the car to bed in a little.

Its very impressive the height differance's from pictures posted on this thread. Luke's springs were purchsed from us over a year ago and his car always sat that low from day one I think. We have never had any problems with these kits and we sell about 10 of them a month.

Please let me know how you get on once they are fitted.

Thanks.

Chris.

Wow are you serious? You may be fooling the less knowledgeable members but not me.
Just by 'settling in' do you really think Ross's car is going to drop another -40mm?

You've sold many sets, but you've never had any problems? Well, you've got several customers with the same problem now :win:

I'm not being a c**t, I just don't want members getting F'd over like I did when I started modifying cars.

I dont expect another 40mm that would be a serious drop. his car is already down 40mm from stock height. I have been out and looked at his car and compared to a stock height car its down quite a bit.

What I was saying is 5 miles hasn't given the car long enought to settle in. The trailing arm bushings wont be used to the new ride height and need to stretch or tare to the new height.

And I don't have several people with a problem. This is one person asking question about if they will do the job descibed on the box and thanks to your pics and mine we can see that they do just that.

I have a set of sporline eibach springs on the way for my ek9 from accessoryzone also and going by the way they have lowered the other silver hatchback I wouldnt be happy with that drop not just because they have not lowered the car 50mm but the fact that the car sits alot lower at the back than the front. This would make the car look terrible and ruin the handling!!

I bought these springs going by the picture of customers car (lukes blue coupe) on the website as an example of the sportlines fitted to a civic and because the springrates are slightly stiffer than oem ek9 springs. If they are going to make my car sit that high at the front compared to the rear I would rather send them back:angry:

Yes but I was referring to the vk9's silver civic with the eibach sportlines which actually looks even higher at the front than the silver hatch Bon posted.

I hope that they have not been fitted properly or that the springs were not made to spec by accident on vk9's civic!

He says that one of them is not fitted correctly as its not sitting all the way in the cup. He is going to reinstall them correctly and see how it looks then.

There is no fault with the springs that Eibach is aware of. We have contacted them and they have not had any other people contact them about this batch of springs.

99.9% of the time eibach get problems with their springs it is because they have been installed incorrectly or the car has other issues. Very rare for there to actually be a problem with the spring.

That was what I am hoping for, I should have my springs fitted shortly and I am a mechanical engineer with plenty of experience working on cars and fitting springs etc so wont be a problem. I will post pics when fitted to clear up any confusion, I hope

they are definately not sitting right on that vk9, if anything they should be slighty lower at the front, going by other sportline kits on ek hatches

I'll have to get these fitted asap, hopefully sometime this week and i'll let you know how I get on. Andy I know how you feel man just can't wait to fit these and hope they give an even 50mm drop.

I'm going to have the springs refitted ASAP !

Abit off topic but the mechanic suggested while changing the shocks I'd be better of changing the shock top mount bushings. Honda quoted my £90 for all four but what are your opinions? If I would be better off changing them I was thinking of just going for a full energy suspensions kit as they don't cost much more. If I don't really need to change these I could probably get my shocks and springs fitted today...

It all depends on the mileage and how the car has been used but generally the Honda top mount bushes that I have came across have all been in good condition with average miles and use and did not need to be changed, so you might be wasting money by buying new ones

My cars covered about 90k, is there anyway of checking the condition of the bushes without taking the shocks out?

Don't do it. :nice:

Alrite guys, to clear up any confusion caused by the pictures of vk9's ek hatch with eibach sportline springs. I can confirm that there is something wrong with the fitment or set up of his car.

I recieved my sportline kit from accessory zone today and installed them on my ek9 with oem shocks just tonight. They sit well and the front sits lower than the back which is the way the should sit:)) This is without them settling in as I havent even drove the car yet, I will get sum pics up of the car in the light but im very happy that there is no problem with the springs what so ever!!

So I should just use my old top mount bushings? :)
