Anyone any intrest in an EM1 race car build?....

1;12.56 was my fastest time.
Thats on brand new A048's on an absolutely waterlogged track.
Calipers were starting to sieze then as well.
I reckon 1;10's are possible in similar conditions when the brakes are working 100%.
1;04-1;05's should be the times i should set in the dry going on the time above, but we'el have to see what happens there! I should be on the heels of the barrier time anyway!

Would have taught you would be aiming to be in the super touring class? given your setup and power!

Ive to start of somewhere. I weighed up the options and touring class is the best area to go into as i have to find my feet and learn to race door to door. The car should be quick, but as a driver im only just beggining and currently not at the standard to compete in ST.
I'd imagine i'l be in ST next year though ;)

Couple of rounds and you'll be well settled:nice: Must get a look at car when i'm up for round 1

Thats the plan, although this stuff always throws up surprises!
Yeah come on up and say Hi, i should have some for for you to do hahahaha :D

Final tuning work completed!!!
Maximum power and torque at 7000rpm.
means I won't have to rev the tits off the engine to get it to move and should also be very reliable!!!
Just ready to go now. Qualifying and practise is this Saturday with full schedule of racing on the Sunday.
It should be an epic day of racing, if any forum members can make it down, you won't regret it!!!!!

Qualifying: second fastest
Race 1: Leading race until final lap...then went out on the last lap with contact between the White EK9...ended up in a tyrewall. DNF
Race 2: started last up to fifth before the first corner with a great start! Got up to fourth before i was hit from behind...spun...then hit again at the front. Driveshaft was fooked a lap later and i DNF'd again.

Very dissapointing as i could be leading the championship yet, I dont have any points at all.
The car is looking very bad, but i'l have it sorted this week!

Take a look at these 3 photos. There was 1 full lap and 1 corner to go after i was taken out.
Only marks were on the corner of my back bumper.
I was fooking Livid.

It's unfortunate when car's take damage but it's not like ITCC isn't unknown for contact! Everyone is pushing hard and often they are bumper to bumper but I wouldn't throw around accusations that you were taken out in a "execution move" because it's certainly not what I was told down there today.

Not an ideal weekend at all but some positives to take from it to by the sounds of it, you must have been working well with the car up til the damage. But I can totally understand your frustration, when you've spent so much time and money to get the car built, ready and there and something happens i wouldn't be in too good a form to say the least

Sounds eventfull, same as the BTCC I watched yesterday, sounds like you had positives too though, will check the footage tonight :nice:

Ive calmed down a bit since i posted originally ;)
I went to race control and they deemed it a racing incident....but tbh i kind of expected that anyway....i suppose i was lucky in a way because i gestured at another driver on his way round the next lap so I was obviously wrong there as well.
I could only go my insticts at the time...and that was that It was deliberate...but i suppose any race driver in my shoes at that stage would have had a bit of the same feelings in them.
I went to the other drivers and we made up, theres no point in holding grudges and stuff so it was all good that way

Good news is that I had the pace on nearly every other car in the class apart from one....who is obviously sandbagging, but its only a matter of time before that chap is caught out!

Car looked great yesterday and some great overtakes in the first race until your 'off'.

15-04-12 / ITCC Round 1 / Kevin Moran / Honda Civic Coupe / Touring Class / Mondello Park - YouTube
At no stage does the driver behind me get ahead...until he bashes me out execution style with a punt to my rear bumper as shown.
This is the footage i was waiting for. Clear prrof of what happened.
Maybe you shoudl not believe everything you are told in the paddock. ;)

Hard to say if theres intent , but IMO looks like he left his nose in deep twice (On Rabbit and you ) waiting for the car in front to come across.. really hard to judge and are always going to be classed as racing incidents !

Thats racing though ..!!
