Yes finally 250 posts

Tbh as a new comer the 250 posts rule is a target. I know it shouldn't be but it is.
I'm not going to lie my 251st post was a forsale add. But look at my post count now. Still going strong with the same amount of posts per day befor I could sell. People are too fast to jump on the new guy on here. No doubt your all bored of people coming on here to flog ther shite but don't tar everyone with the same brush.

Yes but did you post a thread once you reached the required post limit stating "Yes finally 250 posts" "can finally put the car up for sale" It's clear from his post that his intentions all along were to reach the post limit in order to sell his car on here.

Yeah I suppose your right.
Although I wanted to sell my car it was for an ek9 so abit different.

I didn't mean to affend anyone , yes I would like to put my car up for sale on here because I want my car to go to another Honda enthusiast as myself and like to see what the next owner does to her, I like this site and will carry on using it for a long time , and btw I haven't tryed so sell anything on here okey

Seems to be all people are joining on here for is to sell stuff instead of on ebay as they dont want to pay ebay fees. People joining and 2 month later having 300 odd posts of junk.

hummm, has caused me some serious attention with the mods and me dealing with twits tbh.

Attracts some strange bottom feeders for sure, placing a target for post count.

Should really be looked at in a different way other than post counts.

But isn't it a good thing people selling parts on here as it keeps interest/ek9 on the road.

I have got an issue with people just selling loads of Halfords crap and non ek9 parts.

How about the for sale section being solely for EK9 specific parts.

Dunx

Do you guys really care this much? How often do you actually see a car sell through this site anyways? Big fu!#in deal if he can sell items. With half the crap that people put up at inflated prices the sh!t doesn't sell anyways. How many 'built' engines are up for sale right now? How many of them are selling? Maybe one thats been listed for a couple months because the seller finally lowered the price. Not to mention the sale threads have about 20+ people saying nice parts but never buying.

Personally I stick to the Vendors since they are legitimate businesses looking to take care of the customer. Not some kid trying to make an extra buck because he thinks he something special because it says Mugen on it.

Good for you JDMjoshdeath! I suggest a different site to sell your car on though, unless you price it under 4K.

To be honest mate, I do care. This is an awesome forum with fantastic resources and a great community aspect to it, which gets ruined by people coming here and spamming just to sell. I've made some good freinds from this site, and i can see that side of the forum dying out which isn't the best.

The selling aspect of the forum is a privilege, and it pisses me off when people sign up just to abuse that without contributing towards the community.

Only ways around this is either pay to sell or up the posts even more, or how long the user has been on the forum say over 4months?
Or a mixture of the 3.

Take what I'm about to say with a grain of salt. You have been a member rougly 9 months longer than I have and have nearly 5x as many posts as I do. How many of your posts would you classify as 'spam'? I bet more than you'd care to admit.

People get on this forum and notice what the trend for posts are: short, quick, and mostly complementary. How many times do people have to say nice ride? How many times do they have to say Welcome to the forum? How many times can you say engine A is different than engine B because___? The list goes on and on. It's a forum. This is how forums operate.

It is stupid when people sign up and do a bunch of stupid posts with no intention of being active in the community and only want to sell stuff. I would argue that is a small percentage. Look at the join dates and post counts of those that have stuff for sale.

Granted the thread creator was a bit thick about reaching 250 and being able to sell, but he has been a member for 7 months! Way to help build on that community feeling by bashing him.

Just another 2pence here.
If you don't like what people are selling then don't buy it?
If they only want to sell on here then making them pay to sell puts money into the forum and therefor the community for whatever? Meets, track events, show events you name it?
Only problem is that the honest people on here that only want to flog their spare parts get punished.

Funny you say that vandal yet the thread creator managed to smash out 25 posts yesterday alone - which amuses me somewhat..

If it were me i'd increase the posts needed - and yes i would start from 0 posts as im not here to soley flog **** items.

He's responding to comments/opinions on threads that he has created. Seems like he's using a Forum to communicate with others.

Oh ****, really? Forums are for the archiving of knowledge, not ****. If i wanted to communicate with my brother/friends i would call him/them

Either way 10% of his total posts in a day is spam just to get the magic 250.

And here we sit, contributing to ****. Then why do you even care if your sole purpose of the forum is to archive knowledge. I haven't seen anything new (other than the H22 Polo) that hasn't really been covered before or could just be googled. Guess what, that happens with a car 15 years old.

Again, people come to a forum for community. Do these actions take away from the community? Sure. It can also be ignored by the community.

On a side note: Go through the refrences and you'll see that Forums are not for the sole act of archiving knowledge and are generally used to have conversations with others i.e. 'Message Board'. Like we're doing now.

Yes I shouldn't off posted this , I was just happy, does it really matter that much ? Jeeeeze! I'm going to remove the post because if I wanted to read through crap like this id go on a facebook

To be honest in my opinion. I believe in both sides of the argument, although wether it'd be 50 posts or 250 posts as it is. It gives you another privilege within the forum. Just like you need X amount of posts to pm. Regardless of what section it lets you into or allows you to post in your gonna aim for it regardless. If folk think the stuff being advertised is shite don't buy it or report it
