Worlds Fastest Honda!

Wow that looks amazing!!! Didnt think it would hit them speeds with standarrd gear box...

25" tires, 0.738 6th Gear (i.e very long), 9000+ rev limit and you will hit 200+ mph.

Is not hard to do, just need enough space to do it. Hondata have been trying for ages now.

thats fast, the last record was the AEM/turbonetics civic powered by a 1.5 liter b16 that was turbocharged. That one ran 207mph...

but the DC5 has much better aerodynamics...civics don't fair as well... thats the most important thing for top speed runs. Honda had extensive testings with the DC5R in the wind tunnel to further improve it over the DC2R. Results were nothing short to blab about.

i wonder if you could hit the 200mph mark at El Mirage?

Actually, for these high speed runs, the aerodynamics concerned is the Coefficient of Drag, of which both the DC2 and DC5 have around the same (0.32-0.33). If aerodynamics was a concern to Doug, he would have chosen the Honda Insight with a 0.25cd (this is the most aerodynamic Honda).

The reason for choosing the DC5 is because he wanted to keep as "oem" as possible.

(0.32-0.33)
Is that all? didn't know that... but the dc5 would be more stable...

really? thats interesting. would you happen to know the drag coefficient of an CRX or EK9? Hondata also used a CRX.

oh mother of god please tell me you know the CD area and CD drag for a facelift ek9, i really needed this info a while back and could never find it... and while your at it send me one of those taller 1st gears, i will have my mom bake you some cookies in exchange :secret: :nice:

CRX is 0.29. The base EK's are 0.32, although I'm not too sure about the EK9. Usually the sportier the model, the higher the cd due to wider tires, spoilers etc

How about EG6 do you have any idea how much it is?
