Started car up and took it out of garage stopped it and when i went to start it again later itll just turn over and try to start the odd turn.Dirty fuel filter? im thinkn this as fuel was really low and light was on for good wile so put a gallon of fuel into it and still nothing but im guessing the filter is prob my problem lads?

How old are the plugs?

How old is the fuel?

If it was me probably put new plugs in, fresh fuel and filter and should be good to go.

Low battery? Just not giving enough ummppphhh to fire the engine up again?

the plugs are new havnt done 1k yet, fuel was a few weeks old, filter hasnt seen 1k as its a new engine. put the jump leads on batt and it give the odd try to start but wasnt going to so im thinking dirty fuel filter

Can you hear the fuel pump priming and the main relay clicking ok ?

yeah the dizzy was changed when i bought it but ill check think the filter is my problem

Pull the spark plugs and check to see if there wet, some times if they get really badly fouled you won't get it to start without taking them out and drying them off

Try taking a lighter to the tips of the plugs to dry them out ;-)

could be a fuel pump problem

Could also be main relay or ICM

Pull the plugs out individually and attach them to an HT lead, crank it over to see if you are getting a good spark at the plug

this is all you need to check ;
theres fuel,
good spark,
power (battery its charge),
check your plugs (make sure they not wet sometimes you crank few times and they get wet if thats the case dry them off)another thing check tps and map make sure they plug

it has a brand new walbro fuel pump its priming np ill have a look tonight cheers for ideas lads

if your fuel filters ok I would check the distributor. my ek9 did the same thing last year just kept turning over and wouldnt fire up. try push starting it and if that works its more than likely the dizzy. I have a spare one here if you want to try it.

ok so cleaned plugs (they were wet) and bought a new fuel filter put it in and turned key,it started but was running ruff and after a few seconds it stopped again would it be dirt in the line?

ok but y did it start for a few seconds with the new fuel filter on as with the old one it never actually fired up
