Which tyres do you think are BETTER than Yokohama Parada Spec II?

One tyre that really impressed me when I had them on my toyota levin was BF Goodrich g-Force the size I had was 205/45/17. They have a nice stiff sidewall and the grip was amazing in the dry or wet

Hmm, my current profile is 50 and the car already has clearance issue, so dont really want to lower the profile anymore.

Any tyres that have strong side walls without flexing issues with 50 profile?

Gee: The tyres youve used in the past Eagle F1 and T1R are both strong performers in the wet. Eagle F1 was tested better over the T1R in every aspect.

Are you looking for a wet tyre or dry? If your living in Europe and often wet, then I guess its hard to go past Eagle F1. In Australia, we have dry and wet seasons so we have the exclusive Bridgestone RE001 which performs highly in wet and dry.

Semi slicks like RE01R, RS2 etc etc are very slipery in the wet. If other users here dont think so, then maybe theyve havent tried enough tyres in different weather conditions. Search up the net or magazines for tyre reviews to help your choice. As blinx says, theres heaps of good tyres but choice should be made depending on your application and weather conditions.

Yeah, in the UK so is wet a lot of the time. Maybe I should stick with the F1's. How will the tyre wall perform with a 195/50 profile?

I have read that semi slicks are pretty bad in the wet and I wouldnt expect anything else to be honest.

Semi slicks are out of the question for me, my car is a dauly drive. I may get some on some seperate rims for track though :nice:

Thanks for you reply.

i have yokohama s-drive and i am happy with them apart from the traction in wet.
Can i ask you something? I see that prices in England for tyres like toyo t1r or yokohama parada are ridiculously low, like 30pounds per tyre. Can you explain why this is so? Because prices for the same tyre to other countries are much higher which can reach up to double price!!

The demand for them here is High. Therefore cheaper. I believe.

RS2 is wet slick... so I don't know why you found the RS2 is crap in the wet? I have never try anything grip better in the wet than the RS2 so far. I am a test driver for a few race team inc the Buddyclub DC5 race team in UK and I have tried enough tyres in the wet. If you can find anything better please do let me know and I would love to recommend them to the race team.

Been running the RS2 for a long while now, Good in the dry & wet, used them on track also, got A048 & 888 on my track rims but if its raining I keep my roadwearing RS2 rims on, better sidewall than the F1's and more feedback imo, and @ £49 delivered (Julian Rarerims) good value. The Bridgestones may be as good or better but they are too expensive for a daily drive imo and harder to get hold of.
If you find a tyre that suits your driving style then all is well, but dont go cheap on tyres or brakes.

Definately wont be going cheap on tyres or brakes mate.

One thing about the Parada..the road noise is mad!

I tempted to go for Eagle F1, seemed fine on my last car. Only thing, should I be worried about the tyre wall with a 50 profile?

Would you recommend RS2 over F1 because of this then?

The RS2 is the better tyre over the F1 for me, more grip & feedback, I run 50's anyway again more feel & control imo, also if you decide on the odd trackday and dont have another set of rims/tyres the RS2 will out perform the F1.
As for noise, maybe but my EK is loud so I dont notice.
The Parada is still a decent road tyre on a budget but I wont be using them again as the RS2 is just better & not that much more cash.

Cool.

Might give them a try, thanks for the suggestions everbody. :nice:

I still think the RE010's are the best dry weather summer road tyre...

Not too clever in soaking wet conditions IMO, though Gansang on the Type-R Legends DVD doesnt seems to struggle in the wet too much:p Im no madman in the wet though, & the RE010's grip levels help me keep my "sensible" head on

Many people harp on about how tyre technology has moved on blah blah, but the Bridgestones were specifically designed for the Type-R's, with stiff sidewalls et al, which is good enough for me....

For track work, I wouldnt even consider using road tyres nowadays (having used R888's) They really are THAT much better. I gained about 2-3 seconds a lap around Castle Combe using them in my Golf:)

I would use something like R888 too if I had a spare set of rims and the spare cash to splash out!
