What have you beaten in your ek9?


my mate has a 202 bhp glanza runnin on low boost. another 6 months and he reckons it'll be about 230-250 on high boost as the mapping is all over the place. he has smoked some serious cars. evo's sti's. u name it. i raced him. after third he left me for dust. he was only playin wit me i first and second and this is in the wet. and he has no lsd at all!!!

Daamn right. With the right setup along with a good tune, td04 powered starbos can be beasts. Some of the cars my mates have whooped in theirs you would'nt even believe if I posted up lol.
I'll still have a crack at them in my ek9, but reccon I'll get owned. In the bends etc, now thats when I hope to flip the script:)
 
even wit a starlet wit that kinda power in the bends ul have them no problem...solid beam rear axle was a bad idea in starlets an they havent got a big enuf wheel base.
 
Ye. If they had IRS, they would be spot on. Dunno why Toyota opted to go the beam axle design tbh

if toyota wanted to build a great handling car they would of:nice: but toyota built a cheap economical runaround mate,sure they are great when modded(with loads of mods) but the fact is the were produced as an economy car...i mean look at the suspension setup,very short wheelbase,solid beam rear axle......

whereas imo-> honda built the ek9 as a real drivers car where it can be pushed to its limits time and time again
 
Ye good point bro. A mechanic said something similar to me a few years back, when I had my swift gti, i.e. He said suzuki pretty much went to town with the swift,whereas the starbo was designed to be cheap runaround as you said.

what's funny is the best races were with regular cars like the Maxima or G6. I've walked practically everything else that's tried to race me (POS ricers with no power).

B16A2 from a 99 EM1, with AEM Short Ram intake, 7lb flywheel, Exedy Stage 1 clutch, custom exhaust, no name eBay muffler, stock exhaust manifold in my EJ6 hatch.
 
old thread thought I might bring it back since last night I just whooped a Holden VZ SS Ute with loud exhuast(370-380bhp, 1700kgs+ car) with the 9.... lol

started on an uphill climb into a level staight road. The Holden was daring me with his throttle, so I from 1 car lengths behind we were fullthrottle from 2nd gear 40kmph.....by the time in 4th gear 150kmph when I lifted my foot off the throttle, I was 1 full car lengths ahead, which is about 1.5 EK9 lengths ahead. :woot:

2 months ago, I was at the lights with my DC2R. Skyline GTS25T with exhuast, BOV, Intake etc. So this guy started on me by revving the **** out of his car in Neutral and did a standing still burnout at the lights........I was like wtf??......... 'ok wise guy, lets see what you got'........held the revs to 6000rpm..... lights green....bang.....didn't expect such a burnout from the ITR but by the time it got grip I was already 1 car lengths ahead...... what a dumbass, embarassed himself with his friend...... end of 2nd gear 3 car lengths ahead.......slowed down till about 60kmph in 2gear waiting for him for a rolling start........bang again, by the time end of 3rd gear, 1 full car lengths ahead.........at the next lights he asked me, "How Much You Paid For That?"
