What do i do?

Do some cheap stuff to you 1.4 for the next year! Save some weight! Acceleration, braking and handling! Remove all the interior down to 1 but if you must 2 seats max! Sell your wheels and get some lighter ones. But don't spend to much on it! It's only a 1.4. That 600 bonus stick it in the bank towards your new car! JUST GET SAVING!

Go for the jordan lad. There still a great car only 500 ever made so they are not to common! Also cheaper to insure than an ek9! Jordan ftw

DONT spend any money at all on the D14, total waste.

I'm going to stick with it I think. Just by a new mani and induction kit and keep saving

I see my last comment is off topic by a couple of pages sorry. I too have a SSB 1.4i do some mods. Simple mods that will be nessicary for a conversion! Like coilovers all round, strut braces, LCA's, sub frame and some nice recaros etc. I know what you feel bud! You just really want that bit of performance! My civic is as dead as a maggot too

Turbo your 1.4 civic will make more power and torque than a EK9:D

Be patient my friend! If i could go back to your age i'd have just waited till i can buy the car i want! I've spent thousands doing it the other way always settling for second best! Just keep you chin up, GOOD things come to those who wait!

I like your words :)

This is very very true!

buy a ebay turbo kit for the 1.4 and have some fun with it then buy what u want next year u might not even want another honda buy then

When i was your age i had no patience. I chopped and changed my cars whenever i fancied a change. Yes i have owned some pretty good cars but had i been patient and waited i would easily be in a far better position both financially and in terms of the quality of my car than what i am now.

I roughly worked it all out once and if i had stuck with the same car for at least 3 years i could have a k swapped ek9 and a dc5 with the money i have spent up till now.

Instead i have an ek9 with basic modifications that i will have to sell in April to fund a house purchase.

yeahhhh! putting out about 230hp stock!

nahh

im sure if you wanted to do a K swap theres plenty of people on here that have done them and no how they are done so just ask about or even get 1 of them to come give you hand, obv first ask for everything that you would need. then once everything is in your pocession get someone down to give you hand over the weekend to put it in and get it sorted.

hes got a point. insurance wont even **** you over, theyl just say Nut

I think, what most insurance companies do that are prepared to insure engine swaps, is they will calculate it based on the car it comes from (+ a bucket load more). I phoned Sky for an insurance quote for a K20a swap and I couldn't be insured because you have to be 23 or something like that for a DC5.

So, if you can't be insured on an EP3, then you'll have no chance with a K20a2 EJ9.

Try this company, they were good for a K20/24 quote I tried:

GreenLight Insurance
