v-tec abusers turboed B18 'first page updated'


well ive got a S9B box and ive got another block. all the parts are waiting to clear customs, then its all go. i think i should get the car back about the middle of next month. hopefully. touch wood.
theni'll be hitting the track and seeing what she can do.
 
Serious work so far man and a gas read :) Looking forward to seeing the result of the boost
 
another little update. top end is fully rebuilt, gear box has been stripped down and rebuild with the new LSD in place. block went to the engine shop and been bored to 81.5mm, they were ment to get the block bk on friday but somehow the engine guys lost it!!! since found it tuesday. everything is ready for the go. engine should be built by next week and hopefully ready to go bk into the car. then dyno and road set up he he... cant WAIT :) :) :)

all the brackets and fitments have been taken off an repainted as has the block etc.

the engine mount have been poly filled and i got them back yesterday, some ones been working on my car all day and as of tonight it now looks like this

the rocker cover isnt mine. its just one they've put on to keep mine looking good. just waiting for some more bit then it'll be ready to fire up. seeing it in the car now its kind of hit home.

Nice build the new engine with the turbo fits in so neatly! Looks amazing! What power are you looking to make?
 
Looks awesome. Guess I'll have to try and make the long trip to sntterton again next year to see this thing tramming along.
Any hopes/expectations for bhp figures or just more interested in what it goes like?

i cant remember which make it is. i believe its pretty much an exact copy of a fullrace. i couldnt really afford one of those, maybe in the future.

as for power figures. im looking for 300bhp ish. i'll be getting it in a detuned state first till everything is bedded in and everything is ok.

yeah i cant wait till i can get it back on track to see what it can do. maybe august at snetterton.

yes matto i'll be doing the brakes as an when i can afford them. my standard EK9 brakes are really sharpe but an upgrade is only sensable i guess. just stuck whick ones to go for. D2 look good in purple as thats the colour im going but i love the willwoods as well. could get the calipers painted i guess.

yeah the engine and engine bay are going to be like new:))

a company called cortan miller performance are doing it. they had a b18 turbo eg in banzai a few months ago now, running about 500bhp. i went to see there work and spoke to Tom loads before i went ahead, hopefully it'll all be worth while :))
