After my 1.5 EK3 was written off a few weeks ago I had my heart set on getting another 1.5, but I checked absolutely everywhere including england/scotland on all the used car websites but couldn't find a clean one to save my life. There were a few but they were all either modded terribly, extremely over priced or else looked shabby.
As soon as this popped up I knew I wanted it straight away as I absolutely LOVED the colour. I was just hoping the paintwork was as good as it looked in the pics and engine was in good nick etc.
I went up the next morning up to Enniskillen to have a look at it armed with cash and luckily the paintwork was immaculate and the engine was solid. It has a full service history until a couple of years ago from 1 lady owner that had it from new in england inc all previous MOT certs. The guy that owned it here had it serviced himself a couple of times and just got new tyres all round and has long MOT on it so went ahead and bought it.
It's a good base to start with as it came with VTI wheels and a nice colour.
The pics aren't the best, these are just the pics taken from the advert and a couple as soon as I got it home.
taking a fancy for a pink one of these for the front and rear too!
I was given 40mm PI lowering springs to tide me over until I was able to get coilovers.. put the front 2 in and it didn't do it any justice at all. Barely even looked lowered!
The unsatisfactory ride-height..
I fcking love whoever invented flood lights!
My old EK3, cousin's EJ9 and my new EJ9!
New grille:
Type-R splitter finally arrived!
Just a pic of it test fitted.. I love how a splitter can completely transform the front end of a car (Y)
And a couple more! Apologies for the terrible pictures, not even sitting right. It's not held on with anything at all, just managed to get it so it wouldn't fall off without screws.
Pics of my engine being taken out of the other car before it was sent to me
EK9 PCT ECU and 262mm front discs
My nice little delivery of the engine..
