Stock EK9 Hondata Tuned 162.7whp - 190bhp

Very nice info there Will, looking good! What you doing to those TVR's? :D

 nice one, good results anyways mate! Email me back when you get time dude! (Think I emailed you anyways.... :p)

that decat did look tiny!! surprised you still managed gains with it, good job :nice:

Cheers Blinx, yeah I was a bit shocked when i saw it tbh. I recon the outer skin must be low grade, thats the only reason i can think its got those layers for inside.

Tims thinking about getting an exhaust place to make him a custom exhaust system! Now Id love to re-tune that for him, with a good manifold the gains should be quite impressive comparedd to stock.

Well Id suggest the larger sizes 2.75" or 3. after the collector. But of course he needs a good manifold to start with. That decat was just worthless. I fitted the cat back onto it today and uploaded the final with-cat' map. Its pure perfection. He just needs some real mods now we can make some good power with it, its as good as it can get reliably in stock form now, midrange before vtec its gaining almost 15hp! Awesome to drive compared to running it on the PCT.

intresting thread!
i thought it was strange how it leaned out 1 afr with that crappy de cat, would a bigger(2.5 ish) de cat lean it out even more?

i have one of those aem afr gauges lying round, may fit it soon.

exhaust upgrades always lean out the a/f ratio, that's why tuning is so important :nice:

i understand that breathing upgrades require tuning to optimise:nice: but i didn't realise a de cat would have such an effect, 1 afr at idle is a fair amount isn't it? especially as the de cat used in the test is hardly free flow looking,
anyway, great work and some great info:nice:

come on now, i now what s300 is, Hondata used to be like down the street from my house. S300 is not actually entirely made my hondata, they add extra boards into the factory obd1 ecu to give it more options, it still uses a P28 or similar as its base.

That's true. These special hondata ECU is actually just an OEM OBD1 P28 with the OBD2a/b adaptor harness built right on, and it comes pre-socketed with whatever version of hondata you choose. With S300 this ECU also comes with the necessary cut-out.
Blinx you mentioned how you don't like ancient ECU's running your car, but I have collected many old P28's and other honda ECU's from the junkyards, and they are very durable and remain absolutely pristine on the inside.

I have just had bad experiences personally :( I know many people run them with great success.

who's that leaning on your door!, tut tut, lol, i gained a unwanted dent the other day thanks to someone doing that:((
nice video tho.

The owner of the TVR/Lotus garage. If I had of known he was leaning on it at the time I would have told him but I couldnt see while sat in the car. looks like he was leaning between the panels at least. I was just showing him what the little 1.6's can do.

he's probably used to being able to lean on the fibre glass cars.... maybe just didn't realise.
