I have been looking into induction kits for my ek9 and after consideration decided against the aem cai and wanted to opt for either
spoon dircect air intake with a panel filter
Arc induction box
j's racing intake
all seem to have there pros and cons but cant really find mant reviews on either the arc or spoon direct air intake setup as in my eyes they both would see decent performance gains
all help would be much appreciated

What does the 'removable' stock resonator look like? What is the 'fender-well', is it another name for the oem airbox? How does the Spoon pipe eliminate the second resonator? :blinx:

the thing with an induction kit is where u want all your power low/mid/top.

the mugen i think is the best all round cia. j's is very similar to it and cheaper. the AEM is realy good but only gives u power at top end so it all depends where u want it and what kind of driving u do

Spoon, with a drop in filter and cold air feed! J's is very good bottom end...

there is a huge resontar inbetween the air box that the filter sits in and the pipe into the throttle body.
the other resontaor is positioned behind the bumper (ish) below the air box alot of people say you need to remove the bumper to get to it but someone recently posted something showing that you can remove it from beneath after taking the wheel off and the splash guard etc.

ye i didnt take my bumper off. and its easy to run a cold air feed from the front bumper to the std air box

The mugen intake or the comptech ice box is the best intake that you don't have to make.
Between the arc and the spoon panel filter + elbow, go with the spoon setup but cut the airbox so the filter is exposed, and preferably set up a direct cold air feed for the spoon filter.

CAI would be more consistant and worry-free about heat soak.

SRI more agressive VTEC sound and induction.

Heres mine :D

What sort of heatsheild is that Jugz? Did you get it custom made?

It's Monza, a local Australian brand. I bought 2 of them and bent the other straight and put it on the side to block more heat and have cold air feed from front bumper directly onto filter.

Theres much more noise compared to the closed up Mugen, stock, and AEM intake because of the thin carbon fibre lining. Almost no difference in loudness with the intake installed or completely off.
The sound and induction noise is crazy loud. I'm afraid to revv it, make s me paranoid about cops being around the corner.

the spoon one does seem like a god bit of kit although a bit pricey....

been thinking about getting the spoon one for a while, although you would have to get the carbon plug cover to match which is more £££
