Sorry if it's been covered but I'm on my phone and can't search.
One question, what is safe power for stock b16b?
Some say 260 and others say 300.
Again sorry if it's been covered :)

Alot of the american sites say they can take up to 300 easily and thats with their watered down fuel.

Cheers guys, I just got an email off two companies and they both said they wouldnt want to tune it to 300bhp. Would be too unsafe!

They say that to cover there back.. It's all down to you.

i said i want 300 and its at my own risk but they said no, we wont tune it past 260-270. my car doesnt even see 2000 miles a year, so its not like its getting abused every day :nice:

Sell your b16b and buy a b16a there better suited for forced induction in standard form.

Aslong as you run low boost (~7psi) it will be fine I reckon.

Do this and youl be good for 250ish hp
The car will be really fun to drive with plenty more torque, depending on what setup you go for:nice:

have you given tdi north a call? they do loads of turbo tuning and were running a 500hp ep3 with not much done to engine just a big ass blower lol was standard suspension brakes and everything, was a customers car but they were willing to map it, or give the turbo tuner on here a call he seems to get good ratings on here, il be giving them both a call when my turbo set up gets going :)

I tried TDI but that's who said they wouldn't. When I go down to talk to them l just say that's what want.
I'm trying to get a b18c4 to put in and boost!

as stated sell the b16b as its worth alot more , could have 2 b16a2`s for one b16b or even a b18c4 which would see more power and saver :drive:

hi
I removed my b16b from my Ek9 and replaced it for a b18c4 .its now running 353bhp on a standard engine with boost .runs really well and has been reliable to this date .its not worth boosting a b16b as its compression is to high and there for might not be reliable or safe on boost. the way i see it is a b18c4 engine cost about £400 . if it only last u just over a year and goes bang say then its only another £400 before u are up and running again .if you are to boost the b16b and that goes bang after a year you are looking at probably £800 to replace it with another b16b plus they are not easy to come across . just something for you to think about :)

B18c4, decent tune on it, shouldnt have any hassles and piss 300bhp plus all day everyday ;)

I'm looking for a b18c4, I want one that I can hear running. eBay just has sh*t

I bought mine off pistonheads, 400 sheets :). Its nearly as cheap to buy a complete aerodeck and sell the rest off :)

Is that what route you are taking shaun ?? Will be good to see I have got my hands on a jacksonracing supercharger kit complete with 440cc rc injectors and aem fuel rail im guna do a post soon on what to go for I.e. pistons rods etc
