Safe power?

I know who tuned a b18c up to 360-380bhp with stock internals. With a gt3582r and on 8psi. It's been over 2 years now and still running. Don't know if the b16b can stand for that but I think you should take care of the boost. Don't take it more than 8psi and you should be safe

So 7psi on a T88 will be ok? I'd go by power more than the boost pressure. My vortech 'charger was fine for nearly two years at 9psi on my B16a2. Would've been longer had the 'charger lived longer  350bhp seems to be the standard limit going by threads on here.

I Just cant seem to find the right engine. They either have over 100k or doesn't come with box, loom ect

so 7psi is the end all answer to every stock block B series engine??

Of course it's not. But it's safe for a b16b engine from my experience.

If youve got better info why not post something useful rather than just moaning about what I've put...

What power are you actually going for? Because a B16a2 would be perfectly fine on standard internals up to a certain point and will be easier to find?

I think he's referring to what I also said, that it's really vague? It depends entirely on the turbo. 7psi on a T88 will see 400+bhp compared to a TD04  So that's pretty crucial to the build :)

Ah yeh fair enough, i get it now :woot:

I'll be happy with 300bhp to he honest. I went in Scott's at 260 I think and that made me giggle :D

Then why not consider a b16a2? It will be more than capable of handling the power and might be easier to find and will be cheaper :)

;)

as said all i was pointing out is 7 psi between 2 turbos could be a huge difference.

Yeh sorry my bad.

Shaun, seriously consider the b16a. I think I may do the same now I've seen how cheap they go for compared to the b18c4. My brother has one in bits from his old crx... Might steal it.

NP

both B's are really good with boost. just a bit easier to make it with the C4 due to displacement.

best thing you can do is read, read and read. HT will have a lot on Boosted B's

ek9 can handle boost just not as much as the lower comp engines.

sell the 16B to some jdm whore and buy a C4 much more scope.

How are the b20s? I have a b20z3 I can use. It's not a vtec engine though but I am told eagle do a kit for the vtec. But with boost would I even need to bother with that.

mates got a b20 with a b16 head, lenty of torque but its diffrent to boost, depends what u after

Well I have b20b3 vtec and going boost in the next couple of months, will let u know how I get on. Gonna be using Garrett T3 turbo.
