Refurbed my wheels

Really big improvement. Like the wheel nuts aswell
 
Sorry to hijack thread but why not aftermarket wheel nuts on oem wheels?

Something to do with the taper of the wheel nut doesnt secure the OE Wheel properly and it can strip the thread or something...

Infact, im probably entirely wrong
 
OEM wheels use a radius/ball end type seating

aftermarket wheels use a 60 deg taper fitting

aftermarket wheel nuts being tapered, they will have a VERY small contact area with the wheel, my mate ran black aftermarket nuts on his wheels and when removing one of the nuts you could see a silver score in the nut about half way up the taper - this is all that was contacting the wheel!!!!

stick with oem nuts as the whole of the ball end with seat in your wheel and keep it held on more secure

Perfect cheers dude!:nice: I have rays lug nuts just now but getting my alloys powdercoated black soon so I will get a set of OEM ones from honda. Anyone happen to know how much honda charge??
 
Very good job mate :nice:, i might have a crack at doing my wheels :p how long did it take from start to finish ?
 
Well I broke it up over 2 days. But I did my last one on my nightshift which is 10hrs But you must remember alot of time is just waiting for the paint/laquer to dry so you can re apply next coat:nice:
