need some help as i dont know what gear box oil i need for the ek9 and cant remember how much i need:((.
was thinking of going for redline oil, not sure what grade/weight i need? gl5?etc, would motul be better?

local honda dealer aint that switched on tbh so not so sure about getting it from them probably end up with the wrong stuff:angry:
what should i get?,,,advice please,
thanks in advance.

Check out the gear box oil change sticky for how and how much.
I am strongly against redline syncromesh fluid, I used it and shifting was worse. Many others who tried it say the same. I recommend OEM MTF, or motul for the track, RVM can tell you about the motul.

go 4 mtf mate. you can't go wrong. you'll need 2.5 litres. they're available in 1 litre bottles. :D

If you don't track your car, go with the oem one :)

Either OEM HONDA MTF or LAND ROVER MTF94 (Thats what I got the other day, plus its cheaper, and is the same stuff)
My ITR takes 2.2litre.

cheers for all the responses,
have done a gear oil change before when i had my teg but couldn't remember how much and what i used,
i'm not planning to track the car at the moment, so looks like honda stuff ftw,
is there only one type of mtf honda sell then? wanna be 100% sure i get the right one

yeah, its MTF3 at a Honda garage. Dont think they sell it bottled in the UK but I normally pop down with an empty oil can & get them to fill it up out of the pump in the workshop for a crafty couple of notes under the counter...

I usually end up using about 3 1/2 litres. Dont forget to turn the wheel a little whilst filling.

Ok thanks 4 the help, will take a trip down to the dealers tomorrow and try and get some:nice:
