i bought my civic and found the top of the bar behind the rear bar had rusted away. i went to honda and they couldent get it even if they could it was £250. so i got my mate to make me 1 out of stainless. its made from thicker metal so is stiffer then the factory 1 too.He said if any 1 wants 1 hes happy to make them up £100 each
he said reduced rate if there is bulk buy.
heres a pic of my old 1 and the new 1 he made me.

great job!

That's crazy how the bar rusted like that. Is the rest of the car rust-free?

Might have been easier to just cut the rusted part out, and weld a larger diameter tube/sleeve onto the existing bar...but hey... your solution is much more elegant... !

looking good!! how is the fitment?

im still yet to find out how it fits as mine was welded on the car so my mate could get gd measurements as old bar was to flexable
should find out when my mate fits that 1 to his car

ill keep u posted
cheers

Does the EK9 rear bumper bar fit other EKs? eg EK4/3. As I would be interested, but not sure how these fit, anyone have a pic of fitment?

Thanks

they will fit an ek4, the part of chassis that it slides into on ek4 is covered with 2 metal caps that are welded on from factory but quite easy to remove with chisel and hammer or 5 min job with angle grinder
