Thanks for sharing :nice:

Nps, i think its interesting to see build ups and detailed photos. Ill document the build and update it. Trying to work out the best way to clean the head. Might just get it hot tanked. Any home diy method suggestions would be great

dish washer on hottest seting and do second wash when empty to rince it out. WAIT FOR WIFE/G FRIEND/MUM TO GO OUT ;)

Exactly what i was thinking. But my mum will actually murder me i reckon lol! Might ask my mate who builds engines at j d classics if he can hot tank it for a beer.

Cars being towed o my house tonight. Goner make a start and get the head off tommorow i think. While the engines out im goner respray the engine bay and paint the block, gear box casing etc. Ive organised to get the head hot tanked for free and my uncles making me up some championship white for free. Pics soon

Ive to towed the car back to my house. Ive removed the exhaust manifold/ front bumper and a few bits but thats it. The rain and christmas has delayed me alot. And the replacement bottom end hasnt arrived yet.

I ordered this valve spring compressor from euro export, less fiddly that normal spring compressors as it bolts to the head and then you can either fill the cylinders with compressed air if the heads still on, or use shop rag/ nylon rope underneath the head to keep the valves up while you put in/ remove the collects.

Comes with fittings, very strong magnetic pick up as well.

I also won this US pro box on ebay, roller bearing draws, powder coated etc. Not the best box but for what i paid it cost less than a halfords cheap and nasty box. And it will just be going in the garage.

I got this gates racing cam belt, tensioner and water pump from duncan for a very good price. I have a big list of parts to order for the engine build. Once shes up and running ill be doing a suspension over all. I have a full set of dixcel racing grooved discs for the car sitting in my garage.

On another note i made a wiring loom for my mate dave over the weekend which plug and plays his guage setup in his dc2, pro sport defi style guages. They look pretty awesome. I still like my omori meter guages, but they have been discontinued for years and years so if they ever break ill have to replace them with a different brand.

As theres not much i can do on my engine atm. I removed the front coil overs and cleaned them and lithium coated them after and refitted. Tommorow ill do the rears. Also goner strip the front and rear brakes and grease, clean etc.

Got a few little bits done today. Removed the rear coil overs and cleaned and greased them, Im thinking of removing the whole front and rear suspension assembley at ones and the brakes. As i have a full set of hard race bushings to fit, Trailing arm bushings, and Dixcel Discs. Ill probs get started on that soon.

Dirty Coilover

Turns out the rear camber arms are adjustable, but they look like something dug up out of the ocean lol!

Also snapped a pic of the flywheel. Looks like a cusco item to me. Sorry for the poor quality pics, using my HTC in poor light. Didnt have time to get the SLR out,

Make sure you spray a load of oil onto the coil overs th stop them corroding as they may look clean and new but will be open to all crap on our roads.
I thought you would have had the engine out by now or at least have the head removed ready.

Ye ive kind of been lazy due to the weather. Me and dave are goner whip the lot out this weekend. Wont take me long. Its all unplumbed et. Just sitting on the mounts, aircons goner be removed im thinking.

Ye i coated the dampers in white lithium grease to protect them
