Well this is my third civic, had a ek3 and a b swapped ej9 and now ive finally purchased an ek9. Picked up this 99 race base ek9 from duncan yesterday. Car is fairly tidy and i have spent the day tidying up and doing a few little bits to it. Have some big plans for the car and will be tracking, ring again next year in it.

The car has done 80k and has a few good modifications. I think it may have a aftermarket clutch and flywheel in it but yet to check.

Spec
99 Race base ek9
PS and aircon but no airbags or ABS
Rear tints fitted

Recaro SPG
Momo steering wheel + spacer
Mugen Pedals
Oil temp/pressure, water temp guages
Techtom data meter
Speed Meter and shift light setup

Red stuff pads
Rear Strut brace
Racing Gear N1 coilovers, Swift springs, 16/14
Fender Braces

DC2 airbox
Decat
Backbox (not sure what brand but very good quality welds, looks like it could be titanium but not sure)

I fit the airbox and brackets to secure it properly

Fit a parcel shelf as it didnt have one

I took the door card of to sort out the alarm door poppers as there not operating the door locks properly.

Next plans are service, refurb wheels, new steering wheel, jdm front plate
 
very nice 9, why you not fitting ur alloy rad to this ?


ps I took my ek9 to the ring this year, was awesome.
 
Well i kinder need to generate some funds and buying this, plus im thinking of removing the aircon and running a full length rad. Ye i took my b16a2 to the ring in august, loved it
 
got ya, mines had the ac taken off but I wanna save that space for a snail maybe one day lol

wats going on with ur seats in the nine ? look like 1.4 ones apart from the 1 bucket seat
 
Its a version sold known as a race base or motorsport version. Has no Airbags, ABS, its lighter than a standard 9, but does have a shitter interior. The idea is it was sold to be used as a track car so they didnt fit the recaros etc.
 
why the hell would it have A.C. fitted if it was a race base type ek9 lol does it have electric windows and mirrors ?
 
Nope, doesnt have electric mirrors or windows. Also didnt come with tints so these where fitted. Apparently you could spec AC, PS etc, so the person in japan must have been hot lol!
 
ok I'm with ya, mine didn't come with tints either. mite be to do with the respray tho
 
Ye the glass was probably removed. Replacment tinted glass is very expensive.

Glad you will be looking after her, did you find the shift light bulb? The tints are just film, if you want you can just peel them off.
Really thinking I might join you for NUR trip next summer.

Havent found the shift bulb yet. Ye i dont mind the tints tbh. Ye you should, we had an awesome time and weve got a wicked hotel. Had a great laugh! We crashed a party at a german football club on the first night and went a bit mental on the jager :p

Also having some problems with the doors locks sticking, removed this culprit and ordered a replacement. Hopefully fit it at the weekend and strip down the lock mechanism and grease everything. If not ill swap the mech over with my ej9.

I also have these, forgot all about them. Energy suspension top mount bushings, d bushings, ball joint bushings, steering column bushings (probs wont use half of these. And i have a full hard race bushing kit! pita to fit but will be worth it.

Cheeky I know but you don't fancy selling your SPG?
 
They came with 5 lugs and steel wheels im pretty sure. I fitted oem ek9 wheels to this.

I may end up selling the spg, its pretty tight and im 6ft and 33" waist. Ill let you know if i do

Sell it and get an oem seat to match the passenger. Then fit some harnesses. I did this in my last one and looked cool also I was held in fine on a track day :)

Ye i might do that. I have a recaro to go in the passenger seat but i need a rail. Only got a bride super low drivers rail.
