Race Base Facelift EK9


Id be interested in that SPG too , I nearly had it off Dunx until you bought the car.. fecker .lol
 
Sorry mate :p for now theres no plans to replace it. But if i did it would be with a larger recaro so id want to keep the rail.

Picked up a few bits to try keep temps down, spoon heat shield and a 1.3 bar rad cap.

Also removed the recaro from my ej9 and im going to fit it as a passenger seat in the 9.

whats the actual point of a ''race base'' ek9? why cant they have the ''semi bucket race recaro seats'' and the red racer interior like a race car?. like when honda stopped makin the ek9 and ej9 were they just left with a ball of ek9 shells and ej9 interiors and decide to lob them into eachother?
 
Basically the race base versions where sold with **** interiors cos they knew companys wouldstrip the interior out etc. Thats why they dont have abs or srs, and ac and ps was optional. Also they dont have tints. I assume this was because they where goner be fitted with plexi.

Guages are a jap brand. Ive got the manual so ill dig it ouf, i think there probs very rare/ discontinued.

I know you guys love rare jdm parts etc. So ive dug out the manuals and ill give you a run down of some of the gadets fitted.

The guages are Omori meter items, read water temp, oil temp and oil pressure. The temp is tapped into the sump and the pressure is T'ed from the oem pressure switch location.

I have one of these wired into the ecu, It reads MPH, trip and you can time quarter miles on it. No idea why you would want one, doesnt look like they kind of car used for drag racing.

I have one of these techtoms on the steering column, it plugs into the obd2 diagnostics port and when the cars hot you can read water temp, volts, rpm, speed, ignition timing, map pressure etc.

I also have a shift light setup wired into a pivot box or something like that. Ill take some pics and work out how it works. Keep finding new things on this car, turns out it has fender braces under the front wings!

They were sold cheaper.
If your building a track car all the fancy bits are just un needed cost.
It's all desirable on the second hand market now but wasn't so much when the car was new.

I didnt have a pic of my actual techtom to hand so i got that from google images, if you look on page 1 you can see my interior, i have genuine ek9 clocks ans you can see the techtom mounted on the steering column
