i noticed everyone cutting clearways(last corner) tight instead of running it out wide. I might try this next time to get the car straight and on the power.
Yeah I was watching the laptimes thinking "yeah I could probably run with these guys" then the times started coming down into 53s/54s lol
Not sure I'm quite at that level yet.
Surprised how slow everyone runs on the racing line when they aren't on a hot lap, you'd think they'd run a rule about that seen as the competition is fastest lap.. Like you say, almost a trackday in traffic.
 
Getting understeer everywhere? Just like mine but perhaps not as obvious on the video lol
 
It got worse the quicker I went. I made some adjustments for the final, but that took rear tyre temp away. If I'd have had one more sessions I would have had a great balance. It was really bad at clearways and Druids. I reckon I was loosing 3-4 tenths at clearways alone.

Later on I switch to a wider line out of clearways and found it a lot better. Tightish to begin with, letting it runout where the pit entry is and then bringing it tight to the wall on the straight.

The media guys put a camera in for the later sessions, so hopefully I'll get a copy of that and post it.

What size tyres are you running? I'm still on 195's and wondered if going to maybe a 205 would give a bit of balance by helping front grip.
 
What box and final drive you running? I know 5th and 6th are the buddyclub ratios

I've got afew ideas in mind for mine next time I go aswell I was losing a lot of time there, that's on low power so it's only going to get worse when I turn it up!

Yeah 195/50/15s I'd love to upgrade to 225s but I'd prefer to run 8' wheels with that. Gold dust in 15" 5x114!

On the front of 29 (Neil Wrenn) he's running 255/40/16 !!!!

Nice vid and you're now the 3rd person I know of in TA. Adrian Daniels (his second year) in the red Astra coupe and Dom Gregory (first yeah but blow engine at first round not made it out again since) in a silver Astra coupe. I once owned a coupe too if you hadn't guessed. Must make my way to a round at some point.

Car now has cams and a 5.1 final drive. Made a huge difference :)

I've still got the horrible habit of moving my hands around the wheel. I'm going to cable tie the bloody things on next time ha ha

Holy crap that shifts now! Some very quick gear changes going on there as well.
What's the shuddering noise on gear change?
 
I ran really wide a few laps before, and I think it's the splitter vibrating. It probably is the splitter, as eventually it fell off ha ha:)
 
You feel that the splitter is that effective that you need to remove the rest of the aero to balance it back out?
This is interesting to me because I'm building a wind splitter for mine ATM but am not sure how effective(if any) it'll be.
 
Absolutely!!
I've driven it without the splitter but with the BGW and it's awful!! It's like driving with 90psi in your tyres.
Understeer central!
 
This is good then! If it can balance your wing out then it must be quite an aero upgrade after all.
I'll look forward to testing mine at brands then!
