Hi all i own this

DSC_0233_zps35b04bad.jpg

I've had my Civic Jordan just over a year now, the car has been flawless and has had 2 services in under 6000 miles, and several parts changed from brakes, suspensions upgrades and all the exterior parts. It's got to the point where when i firstly experienced 'Vtec' it was fun but after long motorway journeys and a trackday under my belt i guess you can say 'its boring'.

On track it held like nothing i've driven before due to the ever lasting Khumo
Semi slicks that lasted an hour and a half... But it just seemed like a shopping trolley amongst other cars on track.

I'd like to wonder what your choice would be if you were me, when vtec dosn't even give you a buzz anymore and the car sits and collects dust on the driveway. I've thought of so many plans ... Split it, K-swap, supercharge, turbo, or just buy another car to play with and rid of this one although not one foot has went wrong.. (Yet) touchwood. On the other hand i can throw it in the garage and abandon it for a year.

What would you do & what would you think of purchasing?

Thanks a very repetitive and indecisive being :angry2:

Get some FI fun. Wether that's with the Jordan or something else is up to you. If it were me I'd try a different car, you can always come crawling back at some point :)

I have a 325bhp Glanza dude and its got to the point i find that boring, infact i cannot wait to get back in my B18C EK9, its more fun, handles better and is useable power.

Tuck the car away in storage for a while and find something else to keep you occupied for a while,

How about doing your bike test?

Maybe you're just getting used to the power. That would mean that you would get used to the following car also. So imho you need a car that's fun to take corners in. Besides that, out of experience I have found the following, which may also be an idea: get a comfy, economical daily. If you drive your car every day it feels like an everyday car. But when I drove my EK3 daily and my DC2 only for fun, it felt like a proper race car! It feels much more special if you don't drive it daily.

I probably need to buy some new parts for it and i'll start liking it again or hide it away and bring it back out after next winter for some fun then i'll realise. Seriously lacking in power in my mind although it runs 181 on a b16a2.

Speak to Keith nicely and ask if he can take you out in the turbo'd monster, might help you choose!

lame sentence. who cares what its like in comparison to other cars yo, its not a race. Drive the car you want, not to keep up with other people.

The man talk sence :nice:

I kind of think the same thing sometimes. As much as I love my civic, Iv had it almost 4 years now and it isn't as special as when I first got it. Its only really money and practicality which is stopping me from moving on to something else.

I personally see it as a stepping stone in my life of cars. I would prefer something with more road presence and power, possibly a coupe. So I know their 'obvious choices' but an S15, or R32, R33 seem nice to me. But who knows, I chop and change what I would like to move onto every 5 mins.

If you have the money IMO, just buy something else instead of turboing it etc etc.......unless its just the outright speed which your after, in which case, fitting a turbo kit will actually be quite a cost effective way to get a car that fast.
circa 300hp > 1,000kg.

But buying another car will only be postponing the problem. Better buy a normal comfy daily!

I think these cars are very good on track?
Definitely show up the more expensive "non shopping trolley" cars out on track.
I rarely get overtaken on track in my 9, if it is its usually race cars with good drivers or caterhams etc.
learn to drive it properly and you want see it as a shopping trolley!

I see where your coming from but i couldn't do 5 laps without having to slow down to let everyone by then pick up pace to then realise i was once again in someone elses way, but thats probably due to the packed tracknight i had attended

This. But to be honest, it sounds like you've had your fun and it's time to sell up, I would not spend another penny on the thing if that's your situation.

I reckon you'll be back at some point though.

I've got a Bmw to use daily which ive no complaints about maybe i just need to test a few cars out and go back to the civic and i'll find something good about it.
