NEW STOCK! Spike nuts, Fuel line Tuck Kit, PAS delete kits.....

Cheers buddy, I'm pretty sure the clutch one is a breather tank. I'd like the tank to keep it as a neat install too, so a wee bit more expense wouldn't put me off greatly!

What's the point in open over looped?

And I take it that it's easy to revert back to power if you don't like?

Yeah, thats another positive to this kit! No cutting any of your oem parts!
Open is supposed to mean your rack isnt as heavy. The theory behind it is that you will fight the rack as its fully sealed when looped, where as a Y piece kit means both side of the rack are open. as mentioned ive ran both and never knew any difference!
But im currently working out the cost on an open kit and it is going to be more money due to the amount if extra fittings and extra hose required

From what I've read this morning I believe that having a breather will prevent air trapped in the system and allows the rack to be completely filled with fluid when operating. I'm just basing this on what I've seen though, plenty of people seem to say closed loop is also fine.

Also I don't think there will be any pressure locked in the system if running open!

Yeah, should be reversible, I've been beaten to post :p

Gonna run with my belt off this weekend and see how it feels, then will make my decision from there :)

As said i always found it was perfect, but personal preferences differ so ill build what you want

Thanks buddy, not doubting you or anything, would just prefer an open system - happy to pay the wee bit extra for it :)

I have no power steering, and theres no fluid in the rack and it's fine.

My kit doesnt include the 2 pipes that attach onto the rack as they dont NEED to be replaced really, that set up looks good though

Put me down for one provisionally I will take the belt of this weekend and see what it's like pushing fluid around.

Thanks

Ian

Have you tried a breather on it?

Its only heavy when stationary or moving below 5mph or so, after that its fine. But like anything, different people like different things

The rack can be removed without dropping the subframe it just a tricky bugger, i found it easier to drop the subframe. My advise would be to strip the rack, clean and rebuilt it using plenty of CV grease in relevant areas. Also to release the "unwanted" pressure from the rack remove the nylon seal from the metal o ring on the rack pinion if you want to do a proper job.

Hope this helps

Ive tried all kinds on it mate, i hate it! Like i say with a proper manual rack it would probably be awesome, but this......not so much! No doubt someone will pipe up and see its not that bad etc but for me its dog eggs!!!

Yes your right, however my lines had a slight leak/split so i decided to be a little creative with some dishwasher hose i got from focus :)
Its only a breather set up so doesnt need to withstand high temp etc
