My life's a bitch

I think I could live a military life, as long as I'm doing something I like and as long as I got a social life there. But I'll never know till I try.

I'd kill to go back 6 years in time. Maybe I can say I like the person I am today (though I don't really do) but even so, what use is that if you're not happy...

Hay mateeee i really dont know what to say. If one of your passions is cars why not try heading in that direction.
Why dont you come over to the UK for a long weekend and come to the large Jap meet JAE Sept 11 - 13. That will give you something to look forward to and maybe break the mold, change of scenery and all that.
All the best, Dunx

but even so, what use is that if you're not happy...

Happiness is not my goal in life, i am a very complicated person and its very hard to put this in words but i will try:

My only real goal in life is to exceed and become something great by my own standards, i have an ideal in my mind that i want to become, i am close to it but not there yet. Emotions are not part of my equation, they are more of a side effect of my journey and existence. I strive to be a neutral being, not happy, not sad, just neutral or content.

If happiness is your goal you should sit down and analyze yourself, your life, your desires. Most likely you have many desires that are not being met, this is the most common cause for unhappiness. If you can limit or prioritize your desires to something more reasonable/attainable i think your level of happiness will increase. If you are unhappy with your finances then continue your education, if your unhappy with your looks go the gym and diet etc... Find the problem, create a plan to overcome it and execute the plan, if people think this way i believe we will all see our problems are not as large as we make them out to be in our heads, it takes the problem from an overwhelming proportion to a manageable proportion and we humans like things we can manage!

Good luck with whatever path you decide to take. Try not dwell on the past and focus on the future.

i strongly reccomend you join boxing cause that will give you confidence and get a job with cars . as for bullying just kick the **** out of anyone who ever tries it - i used to get bullied by a lad in primary until i snapped and bounced his head off the table !! women - just talk to them cause women love to talk just let them talk about themselves and nod like your listening lol . good luck , things can only get better

I talked with a distant friend about stopping. He made it more rational for me. He is happy the way he's living now and sees no need for him to complete his master. More or less same situation for me. He is happy the way his life is. Made me feel a lot better actually. I also woke up feeling better today. Part of that must have been you guys :p

Wow....that's weird. I can't imagine someone doesn't strive to be happy...I mean, if that's the way you want it of course you should do it. You say that emotions are no part of your equation, but how long can you afford to let it out? Emotions is (next to self conciousness) what differs us from robots. You can't just decide what your emotions are. Rather, people are partyl driven by emotions cause you can't ignore them. You are striving to become something great because of an emotion. Not because there is a rational reason to do it?

I have thought about that many hours and thats where my current future plans came from :)

Good luck with whatever path you decide to take. Try not dwell on the past and focus on the future.
Your absolutely right. Sometimes it's difficult. But I need to find my right direction. So that I will be happy and have no need of thinking of the past :)

The funny and sad thing is, violence is the only way to counter bullying. The reason why it stopped in adv elem. is that I took some guys by surprise - they challenged me and didnt expect me to win. It's a sad truth but THE countermeasure to bullying is violence, however sad that actually is.

Hey buddy just hang in there u sound like u are heading on a better path now I have been through things very similar a few years ago I was out drinking every night just trying to forget about how bad my life was getting and I was just making it worse by almost drinking myself to death but I found an amazing woman who I married in may of this year and we are building a gorgeous new life out of our seperate bad lives I hope u find something that makes u happy and is well with u and if u ever need a vacation I live in sunny florida usa and we can take a cruise up the beach in my ek

I have just read through the whole of this thread!:wow:

We have all had bad time's in our life's (some more than others) but it all play's a part in who we are today!
You sound like you have made some plan's for the future & i urge you to see them through, you get a lot of "joy" from achiving goals you set yourself!

Keep your head up mate, life has a funny way of working it's self out!

You have loads of friend's though mate us EK9.org user's are all your friends, just look at your replys to see that!:D

I particularly like this quote from Pedram:nice:
"The lucky ones aren't the ones that have everything, the lucky ones are the ones that make the most out of the things they have"

We all have it tough sometimes. Ive had those thoughts and feelings before. I think we all do at some point. We start thinking of the past and what we could have or what we shouldnt have done. Dont live in the past, focus on the future. Life is full of obstacles we must get through. Find something you are passionate about and enjoy it. I wish you best of luck with what you decide to do, and hope everything works out.

Man this is a pretty heavy thread! You should defo come over to the UK JT i think you have alot of friends here! I agree with civiclife about trying some kinda boxing - ive done Wing Chun (refers to itself as a boxing mehtod) for a while now and found the skills, discipline and confidence that gave me really made me feel more positive. I also think a lot of guys have really shitty days like your one youre deifnately not alone. :)

I have two friends in the UK army, russian special forces and my cousin is in the coldstream guard in Afghan right now - theyre all really happy and love their jobs. politics aside I think if you wana give the Marines a go then do it for sure :woot:. P.S. it sounds lame but a frind of mine who also does kung fu gave me this book Striking Thoughts: Bruce Lee's Wisdom for Daily Living The Bruce Lee library: Amazon.co.uk: Bruce Lee, John Little: Books its kept me driven through some challenging times - dont laugh lol.

pps i love that quote about life being like a tyre i may have to steal it.

"were here for a good time not a long time!!"

colin mcrae

thats wat keeps me going bud

Chin up mate, rise to the occasion :nice:

Hope things work out for you, you seem like a decent guy, and have helped me a fair bit on here ;)

GOD BLESS YOUR SOUL

it sounds to me like its a lack of self confidence has held you back a lot of your life and just in the wrong surroundings.friends are usually made where you work or whatever scene you socialise in,so just be more outgoing and dont be afraid to talk to people.if you are articulate and funny youll bevliked so relax about that and women?you arent missing much there but again i dont care what anyone says make them laugh and you have them.FACT.took balls to say all that you said on a car forum as when i originally began to use forums like this the fact that it was anonymous and people couldnt really know what made you tick appealed to me and i dont think i could be that open on it so well done.

I don't expect anybody to agree with my way of life, its my road, and the one i thought was best for me, i am not cutting out my emotions entirely, they will always be there, as you said its what makes us human, and it does have a huge effect on my life and plans, but handling them it part of the challenge, i guess the most important thing is to feel that you are on the right path. I feel like i am on the right path so i am content.

Thanks for all the kind words everyone. I'll see if I can find time to come over and go to JAE - sounds really nice. I'm still not feeling 100% ok but a lot better already. I'm starting to realise the sunny side about it: I never felt at home in this part of the country and in the academic world. I'm not doing something here where I think I could fill my future with. And I'm not earning any money. I'm fed up with learning behind a desk.

Now I'll be going back to where I feel best, look for a job I feel I CAN fill my future time with and probably find a surrounding with people that are my kind. I will start to earn money, can spend more on cars. And I don't have to learn anymore. No more continuous responsibility to complete my study every hour of the day. Thát is the good part about this choice and it feels good. So here comes the next step of my life. The only thing about it, is that it's a bit scary. This should have been the time of my life, but I think it was the worst. So I'm hoping my next step will be one that works out better.

@Blinx9900: if that's the way you feel you should go and feel best about it then keep on doing that! That is the road you should follow then. And you're right, nobody has to agree with you, it's your life and your choice.
