My DC2 Race Car Now K20'd

Well wirings all completed and got car started for the first time on Monday nite, all seems good so far, just got to get it setup and run in now lol, trying to get out next weekend!!

Sounds good, what lap times were you managing with the B18

What do you expect with the K20? Looking forward to watching the racing this month

Best I ever managed was a 1:06 with the B18
Not sure what the k20 will help me do, hopefully a good bit quicker of course lol, hope it still handles well. It's all a bit of a gamble!!

1:06 is a great pace around there in a production car! We are doing 1:11 atm with standard b16a2, standard gearbox and road tyres in the Civics which isn't bad

What was the spec of your car when you managed that time, engine and handling wise? You are definitally doing something right

The k20 will definitally be faster, can't go wrong with the extra torque and a 6-speed

Theres a good few tweaks to get mine to 1:06. i was doing 1:07.5 to 1:08's for a long while with standard B18 with mani and catback, std ecu, had a cusco upgraded diff when i bought it so i was using that with the standard 282mm brakes with a pad and fluid upgrade and cusco coilovers but i was using part worn full slicks which were only about £25 each and they helped alot.

I ended up building the gearbox with a shorter 3rd, 4th, 5th kit and 4.7 FD and fitting a set of AP racing brakes and got it done to 1:06 with standard engine and ecu. They were the best mods i did but its a lot more money to do that stuff and would defeat the purpose of trying to make yours a budget class. I must call over and get a talk with you this time as didnt get round to it last time. You going on fri to the practice?

Still very impressive for a standard b18! I know what you mean if we want to keep it as a buget class but it sounds like slicks, a gearset/diff and better brakes would have us lapping a few seconds quicker

Unfortunately im working friday so wont make it to the test day

Good luck with the car

Diff and slicks alone should bring you down a couple of seconds, will get a yarn with you on the Sat as long as I make it lol what's your name so I know who to ask for lol
