More 'grown up' cars

dude i so feel sorry for you you have a gf that doesnt understand about the ek9 and boy racers cant afford to own this master peace.

the chav boys make as look bad which does my head in stupid saxos.

luckly i have styled my ek4 that looks slick and not boy racer luckly sinc owning my ek4 not had a single comment from anyone stating its boy racer or ricer or anything negative even my gf likes it every time i come up with the subjects i want to sell it she gets p*ss off and saying its a nice car and her mates say its not boy racer and it looks very nice.
However when i had my white sir2 that had few ppl stating boy racer but i always made them understand that that its a tuned race track car and also stated that can and will boy racer have a £1400 suspension system then that makes them think ??? lol

anyways i was thinking of buying a practical car not because of the image but for economy purposes i dont really care what ppl think as long as i am happy then that what matters anything else down to jealousy etc.

Every car looks the same to my girlfriend, her only comment on the EK9 was "these seats are brilliant! I love this car!"

I looked at a future upgrade to an M3 too but then when I went out for a drive and saw them go past I had a proper look at the driver and half of the times it was a skin-head chav, the other half it was an old man with glasses.

My missus complains that my EK4 is too stiff, too noisy, there is no radio (she doesn't like my CDs) and it is generally a **** car compared to her 2006 Ford Ka.

When she moans, I just bury the throttle and drown her out with the Tanabe rasp. She hasn't figured out the link yet...

lol why dont you have a radio not like you need one though, lol yeh my gf complains about my exhaust hell even i complain about my exhaust need to change it lol.

Something turbo is the way to go after an EK9 like a Scooby or Mitsi in my opinion, I would want to try something totally different after the N/A EK9 so I wouldn't want to go for a 350z etc.

For cruising you can easily pick-up a Volvo with leather seats etc. for peanuts and the extra running costs would be less than that of a M3 if you had the EK9 as a bit of a weekend-warrior as well.

Personally, until I get a bald patch, I'm not going to mix comfort with speed.

Hey I do have a bald patch and am 40 yrs 'young' :)
Had my 9 for well over a year now and yes I always get the 'boy racer' image thrown at me, but hey I dont give a shite. I tell people that its my life, my money, my car and I can do whatever makes ME feel good. If people dont like it then sod 'em!
I use my 9 on weekends only or for special occassions and have an EK3 for everyday use to and from work etc.
Look after number 1 I say........ :) :drive:

my Mrs is not the number 1 fan of my car, its because it gets a lot of my attention as does yours (probably)

but how fun is the vtec cross over? or the first time you take somebody out in it?

who cares what other people think.

anyway if you do care about what people think an e46 m3 is probably not the route you should take lol

what i'm trying to say is, its good to be different :)

Like what others have said, who cares what other think about what car you drive

I go to work in a suit looking all dapper and rolling into the office car park where you can see Aston Martin, Porsche, BMW Merc, Jag, etc...

At the end of the day people judeg me on my output for the company, not my wheels :)

To many people it's just a car to them :p

Regardless of what car you get, as long it puts a smile on your face, then that is all that matters :nice:

yeah alot of people dont even notice the make/brand of car your driving lol

just what colour it is!

i here this all the time from friends and family, i just tell them i love driving, deep down they have no idea what i mean by that but my car is at stage where i could do with grown up car to use as daily driver

my mrs loves the ek9, so much so that i find the keys 'missing' from time to time.
the whole boy racer image is crap but its the same for pretty much every make and model
there will always be some boy racer who buys the base model and then buys the bodykit to make it into a replica.
winds me up something chronic seeing ek4's with type r badges on them.
the people i hang about with know what the ek9 is and what it can do, compared to my previous cars the ek9 is grown up.

imo you cant "tweek" other brand of cars like you "tweek" JDM
thats the nice part of JDM cars specially honda coz there is no limit to the things you would like to do to your car...you wont get bored having it,unlike the big badged brand of cars they are already put to its fullest, they are worth it indeed but it would be boring.

Yeah,

For some reason whenever I look at potential next cars they always seem to be Japanese!

From DC5, to S2000 to 350z!

I think a DC5 would probably be next though. I want RWD or AWD next but I'm not spending stupid amounts of running costs for a 2l turbo. There are other priorities in life too.

If a 2001 DC5 came up for sale and the seller was willing to p/x for my EK9 I would give it some serious, serious thought.

I cant believe how many peoples GF's dont like the EK9's!!
My GF loves it! :) she much prefers it to new cars! she likes old school cars though i suppose such as MG midgets and nissan figaro and old school corvettes :)
you should just tell them straight!
''I like the car, you aint gotta drive it! you either come in it or dont bother!''
:)
simple haha

i would go for FD2 when i turn 25, is a family car, race car, whole package.keep my ek, stripped all out.

I have just today been offered a very good deal on a really rather tidy BMW 328i Sport, one with the rare LSD option instead of crappy traction control.
I have wanted this particular car for some time, and now I've got the chance, but it would mean me having to chop in the Honda. I know I will like the bimmer, but I also know i'll miss how raw and fun the EK is, and I'll be missing out a lot at my local car club events and trackdays.

I guess if I really miss it too much I can always come back for an EK9. Might be time to check out some large capacity RWD action though... :)

TheBoosh: my girlfriend loves the 9 too... always tells me how much better it is than the newer XYZ :) lol

Well i have just made the step to a more "grown up" car...

I have sold the Integra & bought an Accord Type-R instead....:wow:

Nice understated looks. 212BHP/160lbs/ft as standard.

Might be a bigger car but still exceptionally capable. Well worth considering for anybody who loves VTEC!
