More 'grown up' cars

o_O
Sold already, ATR are nice cars. good compromise

Couldnt agree more!

The extra torque & refinement of the H22 over the B18C (let alone a B16) makes it so comfortable & relaxing to drive

Its still a proper type-r though:drive:

if i was in your position , i'd be thinking about DC5's 350'z and S15's.....

whatever you do DO NOT buy an s3 they are pants!

I had one before my ek9 and i would never buy another audi again, (RS4 an exception) they are really boring and heavyand Cost a fortune for parts.

My sister just bought the 116i m sport bmw and im really impressed with it but its only a 2.0ltr and not fast enough for me so i would need the 130i. They look the baws in white.

R32..Audi S3..

Don't they use the same 4 wheel drive system? Actually setup as FF drive and rear wheels also grip once slip is dedected from the fronts?

I'd rather go permanent AWD drive.

This is nice:

Wow it looks really good in black, I've only ever seen silver ones and thought they looked a bit naff to be honest, but this one is hawt.

The only car I'd ever think of as an 'upgrade' from an EK9 would be an Evo, after a N/A front-wheel drive car I'd want something totally different and the Evo ticks that box. 0-60 in about 3 seconds would be mental. :wow:

Love an Evo, but need to make compromises, such as running costs!

Thinking about a S2000 at the moment...

What about a Lotus Elise.

Low fuel, low tax, low service cost...high insurance :angry2:

Stark Automotive also make a DIY K20 conversion kit with everything bar the engine and gearbox for £4k'ish. Plus a super-charger and you have 0-60 in less than 3 seconds.

They beat almost everything around the track, you just look a bit of an idiot as you get on your hands and knees to climb out of it :woot:

christ man what a question.
My mate sometimes ask
IF YOU HAD TO STICK WITH ONE CAR MAKE FOR THE REST OF YOU LIFE WHICH WOULD IT BE ? AND WHY ?
i never have the answer HONDA is up there for sure, imagine an NSX TYPE-R with mugen goodies and an S2000 for fun times maybe even an EK9
A Honda legend for comfort.
A nice little jazz for a MPG biased car.

Back tou your question.........
i personally would choose a Toyota Soarer SC300 2.5 litre Twin turbo standard 276 BHP and that is the gentlemens agreement aound this time so i'd say near 290BHP so by picking up a nice one for 6k - 7k you could spend 3k on goodies and get 350 reliable bhp and have a subtle but very powerful car that i'm sure your missus will approve of.
with 10k alot is on the plate though. don't get an S3 though to much weight those things are quick but a bit wollowy for me.

I'm thinking S2000 because of price. You can get them for £5,000-£6000 now and as it is a 2.0l N/A, the running costs won't be too bad compared to a 2.0l turbo?

I'm getting the itch for big power turbos this week. Twin turbo Supras come up very reasonable on insurance, about the same as EK9/DC2 but with 320bhp+ and RWD.

Shame I can't even afford new gaskets for my exhaust.

i just come from an ev0 6 to my ek9... evos are boring as hell unless you throw mega bucks at them... s15's been my best car so far

gsr crx!! haha jk... ek can look more grown or racer depending on how u tune it i suppose me personally im going for the race car look aha..it is funny at times going to jobs or where ever and ur drivin a track car around lol but hey it looks good handles good gets good gas milage right?? ive always thought of getting a camry as a second car lol... 2.5 rs suby is nice too my buddy pulls that off pretty good even lowered on slips

Im 21 and I sold my EK9 6 months ago and bought a 2004 E46 M3.

It has had its ups and downs. Servicing, petrol, parts, ANY MODIFICATION, AND TIRES TIRES TIRES cost an absolute fortune for the car so a big heads up on that. On the motorways I can get 30mpg-ish. In city centre im lucky if its double fiqures. The car itself is massively heavy as well (1700kgs). With only 340bhp it is still extremely quick considering, but if you are driving it hard the tires and especially the brakes take a pounding on the track ... BMW will take £1200 off you for pads and discs with a big smile on their face ... the standard brakes are not even 4pots which on a car that fast that heavy feels like suicide at times.

Further more, if you still have the thirst to modify, IT WILL COST YOU. An intake for my M3 was £1200, coilovers and £1600+ and for a turbo kit, your looking at £15000 for parts alone.

Positive things .... it is a very quick car. Not only quick, but comfortable, luxurious and amazing fun to drive. It really is a wonderful car and made what i thought would be a horrible transition away from my EK9 very pleasureable. It gets massive amounts of attention as soon as you modify it and the potential is huge (a horsepowerfreaks stage 2 M3 turbo will do 0-200mph in 30 secs roughly (see video at bottom)

Its about deciding what you want and what you can afford. I got the M3 because I wanted something more "grown up" and something "the burds love". Now I have a post on here about buying a new Ek9 for track use as I simply cannot afford to modify or run the m3 to track standard. I think you may find yourself as I do, on the hunt for something cheap to take on the track if you go down this road ........ hope this wasnt too long a post. :D

P.S See my m3 below, got it standard 6 months ago.

dude i so feel sorry for you you have a gf that doesnt understand about the ek9 and boy racers cant afford to own this master peace.

Steady, you can get an EK9 for 5k these days. They can just as easily be purchased by Kev from plymuf cruize as they can by a Honda enthusiast.

that thing is on a dyno. thats stupid LOL.
i have heard from a race mechanic that he reckons with a car sitting at 180MPH to get to 200MPH you need another 200hp at least to get there due to the air pressure so this is utter crap about that M3.
i know they are fast very very fast but come one a dyno video, we don't even know what load was put on the dyno.
