MISSION ACCOMPLISHED [EK9 replica project]

Haha tama FBI.
We can do all these checks in uk aswell, but we don't sell cars for that cheap, we get £150 to scrap a car now.
Not sure what you mean for tax reasons? Uk must work diff to us.

Double post.
150 Gbp = 234usd btw lol

High milage and its been in an accident. Its normal for family members to sell cars within family for next to nothing for tax reasons.

Your brother had the accident I take it if he was the 5th owner.

Looks like it was painted white in 2011.

Take it no declaration of engine swap? Maybe you should stop looking now. We know what's in ther and we can leave him be about it.

I dont know about other state laws but in California:

The California Department of Consumer Affairs Bureau of Automotive Repair (BAR) maintains strict rules regarding engine replacement or change. In addition to regulating engine changes, certification and inspection will be required by BAR prior to any vehicle with an engine change being allowed to legally operate on California roads.

If this is not done and you have an accident ones insurance may be void and all falls on the person without insurance.

Maybe it does not apply in Georgia.

I vote B18c - I've copied the vids and threads onto Honda Tech for opinions.

^ lol the whole worlds going to know about his engine swap now, if he'd have just said yeah its got b16-18 whatever noone would have thought anything of it lol
I recon b16a with a few mods, exhaust manifold looks alittle thin to be 2.5" unless he's got like a 2.75" catback.

My insurance company knows everything under my hood; I had to tell them everything because I didn't want to get my car stolen/damaged and only get repaid a little compared to what the car is really worth. The insurance company increased my vehicle's value by $8000. I had to pay more money for my yearly insurance payment.

B18 would be needed to haul that roll cage around over the lower TQ in the b16.

I dont see any issue with others knowing whats under the hood...the proper engine would be a B18C ITR... the most fun B on the planet. If anything, not telling others will only gain more attention from the wrong folks.

You were definitely right about the roll cage making my car a chunk heavier. I was very disappointed in it's weight. I pull my car out of my garage manually by hand (car in neutral) every Saturday night to clean my wheels. After the roll cage, it was much more difficult to roll the car back by hand. It was a big sacrifice because I was very proud of my car's weight before. At the end, this is the choice I wanted to make because the people at the race track told me I needed a roll cage, and a Cusco 6 point cage is ok for now.

^ you think? Manifold looks abit small in one of his vids, hopfully he'll tell us what's init.
In uk for insurance to know what size engine the logbook(pinkslip) has to be changed to say its 1.8 or 1.whatever.

Roll cages are legal on street, but not necessary as the stock interior is much safer for you and your passengers in an accident. Those bars closest to your head should be padded and not left bare metal for obvious reasons. Stock interiors are made with all the plastic bits for safety, bars do the opposite, this is where helmets and padding take over.

Pad your bars in other words. Unless you drive with your harness more snug than a 16 year old virgin, which would make looking over your shoulders a bit difficult and unsafe.

I personally run with a driver back roll cage, nothing past the seats moving forward for safety reasons while on public roads. Even with that, nobody can sit in the back seats due to safety concerns. The driver back setup is lighter than your setup and might be a good option for you.

This statement confused me very much for a good minute. I had no idea why you said 2011 until later on. My car was painted on September 1, 2009. I will never forget that day because I started cleaning my car every single night ever since that day. The reason why you saw 2011 is because that's the year when I updated my vehicle's registration and insurance after getting pulled over many times by cops because they thought I stole the car and repainted it to cover it up. I've been pulled over many times for vehicle theft suspicion but I have never gotten a ticket before; they always let me go. I try to drive as safe as possible.

yes, if they were running your plates with it turning up as a silver car and its white, they will pull you over. Getting that changed was a good thing to do. :)

We all get tickets...thats not a big deal. You should drive safe, always.

This is what i've been trying to say all along :nerv:

I'm gonna go ahead and guess that this engine is a B16B with some upgraded parts.... The main reason i say this is that i think the B16B is very rare in the U.S and i think that might be why michael keeps it so secret ;)

Oh I hear you loud and clear Topher-EK9.
6point bolt in cage and b16b=top heavy and slow which may be a good thing for a new driver. A shame also, as this was a lightweight CX at one point, learning performance driving could not be any more fun in a properly setup CX with a B16b in it; sans the cage. But then again this one has 300,000 miles on the chassis so maybe the cage is needed for shore up the body flex which it surely must have.

very nice car! and it would make sense about his engine being a b16b with his "security purposes" even tho i had one (full b16b swap) in my em1 and had many pictures of it all over the internet. i highly doubt that someone who wants your car really bad is going to break into your locked garage then try and break in to your car before you even hear anything, let alone be dialing 9-1-1... but each to their own. also i have a 2.5L H-4 motor... :p impressive build tho!!!

Wow, those before and after pictures are crazy! I can just imagine how much work that took, looks awesome!!!
