MISSION ACCOMPLISHED [EK9 replica project]

rough ek9's are where its at tho, so you know they have been driven like they are supposed to be driven, i wouldnt want to own a clean as fook ek9 cause i just wouldnt frape it!

Don't worry mine gets abuse. More so once I get some track time in

For some reason he's ashamed to have a sohc engine in ther. Its Likly 1.4
Not sure why tho doesn't really matter what engine it has it looks great and he should be proud of his achievement

Why be ashamed of a sohc engine? If that's the case I'm sure in future he can engine swap to something more powerful. What I would like to understand is why be secretive. Why not just say it's a sohc and I'll upgrade in the future.

I have to agree with you, I think he's done a fabulous transformation, and he's done it well.

It's like having £1k Bride seats then covering them up and saying they're normal Recaros, just incase someone will steal them.

EDIT: I know Recaros are £££/$$$$, especially DC2 yellow.

Pardon my ignorance, but why do you keep your engine a secret? Is it like made out of Gold or something? Surely, if you were that secretive, you wouldn't even bother showing your car?

People always try to steal the car. Showing the engine makes it more likely than ever. People literally ask me questions about my engine in person, at car meets, and over my inbox almost every day from my YouTube videos; it gets so annoying. I always give them the same answer and tell them I can't for security purposes. There have been some people who crawl underneath my car at car meets to see what engine I have because I NEVER open up my hood at car meets. It disappointing me when they inspect all over my car like that, so rude. I'm sorry but people in the world are always assuming stuff. It's definitely like judging a book by it's cover when they have no idea how much hardship has gone through to keep that cover.

Thanks for the reply.

I understand people ask you about the engine, but even with that said; I'm assuming now, you must be running something more amazing then the standard b16, or even b18.

If you are so security conscious, then why use the car? I mean if you're that afraid of someone stealing/attempting to steal your car then what enjoyment do you get apart from knowing that you built something really amazing.

I wouldn't be able to live with a car like that. Each day would be a more depressing day then the previous living in fear of someone trying to steal the car for the engine.

If someone wants something bad enough, they will take it regardless.

I know. it is very sad. I think my friends feel bad/sorry for me but I really love this car. Took care of it and cleaned it EVERY SINGLE NIGHT for 5 years. Some say it's depressing which I think it could be but at the end of the day; this was so worth it and I'm not even kidding. I love cars in general so much (I work on people's cars every week and I don't even charge them, no matter how difficult the job is from 30 min to 10 hours); it is one of my biggest passion aside from breakdancing. You are right, a very determined thief will do anything to steal the car successfully. SECURITY for this car has always been my number one priority since the day I worked on it.

Its all well and good having a joke lads... but its quite funny how people keep on poking Micheal regarding what engine he has, you'd all do well to browse his youpube and see his in car video with the a cam profile of a b16b/b18 and the gear ratios to match..... Im sure Micheal has been laughing at the 1.4 SOHC comments.

He won't say whats in it due to insurance/theft. But its just a Rep in the end of the day, and a well done/cared for one at that... I just don't see how a lad of his age can afford it all! Between University/Gym/Social I can barely scrape enough money to live on, let alone modding my Ek! Save! Save! Save! :angry2:

And don't think your weird mate, alot of car enthusiasts in the world, most who have spent more time/money on their cars then their family :win:

The world is your race track - YouTube

Sounds beastly!
Changed my mind not sohc anymore lol
I'd say this is defo Bseries after seeing this and other vids.
I don't no a lot about them but it has torque mounts and his sump is very similar to mine(b18)
Does sohc have torque mounts?
His gearbox is also very similar to mine.

Hi there mike well done on your car! looks brilliant! will be a pretty rare sight where you live no doubt ;) i can see how much love has gone into it with every vid and pic you put up and thats what its all about! be proud mann :D btw in some vids its shows some nice clear pics of your lowww sump and im not to big with mechanics but makes me ponder whats under your hood a little less. As for the stealing mate you live in america buy a gun, buy a h&k so your less likeley to hit your car by accident.

Wait a minute! I'm very shocked and surprised. How did you know this information? I don't know if it had 6 owners but it was from Arizona because that's where my brother bought the car about 7 years ago and drove it all the way to Georgia. It was from Arizona because that's where my brother went to UTI to become a mechanic for Mercedez-Benz in Georgia.

What does the word "sump" mean? Someone else said it too, and I have no idea what it means.

Sump is where all your oil sits, where the plug is for the oil change,
We call that a sump plug in uk. I think you call it an oil pan?
Your sump(oil pan) is very similar to mine.

dont be shocked, your license plates are easily read in your photos, "FLARE" Georgia, not hard to gather information on your car with that small bit of information...down to the city you reg'ed your civic in.

What the heck?! Dude, I had no idea! I'm very shocked now! I didn't know the car's history could be traced back with just the license plate. 6 previous owners gets me thinking a lot. My brother was the 5th owner and he sold the car to me for $18 so it means i'm the 6th one. Crazy! The body has 322,000 miles on it. I had the car for 265,000 - 322,000.

$18?
Seems a weird number to sell a car for. That's £11.50 in Gbp. You'd get less than 2 gallons(uk gallon) of fuel for that over here lol
Props on the mileage aswell! Mine feels old at like 87,000 miles

How many miles on the engine then? Lol

High milage and its been in an accident. Its normal for family members to sell cars within family for next to nothing for tax reasons.

Your brother had the accident I take it if he was the 5th owner.

Looks like it was painted white in 2011.
