My steering on my ej9 honda civic is very very light i go over drains and it just moves to the right am just fighting with it over small bumps in the roar like drains and stuff. Is their a way to make the steering feel heavier as i would profer that. I am currently on 205/40 ZR 17 84Y tyres.

does it feel like your driving on ice? If so it could be both upper ball joints.

ej9 has generally light steering since its rack is very slow(almost 3.5 turns from side to side). Still your large wheels should have reduced this feeling. What about your caster angles?

Get some castor adjusters and whack on as much positive as possible. Might get some bump steer but it'll weight up the steering nicely.

you could try putting a smaller aftermarket steering wheel on. might help might not worth as try

Yeah it definitely feels like driving on ice. and i am running 32PSI tyre pressure. i know i need new cv joints as when i fully lock the steering wheel it does a clanking noise.

Im surprised the steering is so light with 17's....

I'd change the wheels back to 15's for starters, sort out your rear ride height, & then get your Geo checked/adjusted..

If it is still overly light, then id look at removing the PAS as has been suggested

could maybe be the lsd, mine is quite tight and pulls me about but my steering isnt light, just when i drive fast but thats norm.

Change the rack out to one from a EK9 that will give you a nice steering feel

could need ur wheels balanced i had his problem with my car hit a puddle or bump car is reali hard to steer an very light i got it balanced an was fine

Don't think he has an LSD in a 1.4 Illusion dude :p

i have this problem also and it does my head in! i hate the steering pump of an ITR for when i drop my B series in, will this make any difference at all or is it totally to do with the rack?
