Kinda tired with my stock b16b, what should I do

Pleese, god, read some other threads before posting.

lol shoot i didint even c that x3

anywhos

stoker kit how much is that, around 2k right,
might as well sell the block and buy a new one ? fasklda;lskd;ask what should i do damn!

Sell the B16B then and get a B18C. Easiest option and probably most hp per quid.

idk man, sell it for 3500 at most and buying a legit b18c online thats like 1k on top, might as well buy a stoker kit?

Wow, 1k is a lot. But look at it this way, if you don't stroke it but buy another engine you don't have to take apart the engine (don't know if it's your only car and if you have the guts to take your engine apart?) and it will possibly be cheaper too.

you dont think 1k is a lot? dude thats before shipping and handling , if you want the whole detail look most websites sell the b18c complete swap for $4500 before shipping and handling, id be lucky to my whole b16b swap for $3500 which they sell for around that much before shipping and handling.

I see what your coming from when your telling me to buy a new block but wouldn't it just be a waste to sell such a low mile block and pay almost $2000 just to get a unknown new/use block that's possibly been use and abused.

plus for $2000 im sure i can just boost it with a turbo or supercharger or stroke it with a ls cranks and rods, itr cranks and rods, or even a stroker kit.
and get it all tune and im sure the output would be better than the itr motor right?

sorry im not really an expert or anything, im just reading on the possibility that i just named above .like i said im keeping this car for years to come, im not trying to sell it or race it. just trying to make it a little more fun =) (plus its my only car.... i actually drive it in the winter and shlt, no winter beater for me)

B20 bottom end with your B16B head would be the best power/£($) bargain.

Dude, I just said that is a lot...

So what are you talking about?

Well, I think a brand new stroker kit only would cost you at least 1500-2000, then there will be the extra costs of labor (or will you do it yourself) and things like headgasket etc. That can add up.

Turbo/sc with stock internals is nowhere nearly as reliable as a B18 N/A. If a B18C swap costs 4500 over there I doubt you can stroke AND get it tuned for 2k or less. But I have no insight in the prices there (USA?).

that is exactly what i would do. if your block is an r-spec with 30,000 miles on it, why would you give that up to buy a unknown block that is exactly the same. keep your block, stroke it, buy fresh internals( ARP headstuds, ARP rod bolts , ACL race bearings, and new type r oil pump and OEM ITR pistons all less than $600usd) and throw your existing head on. ta-da new motor!

You also need OEM B18c crank and OEM B18c rods. That makes it a lot more expensive.

You were talking about fresh internals and only mentioned the pistons. That information is wrong cause you also need the rods and crank.

as mentioned by JT you also need ITR rods and ITR crankshaft. Its not cheap.

ya thats what i thought but wasn't sure about ht other stuff the guy was talking about, what about if i get the spoon stoker kit? Spoon 1.8L Stroker Kit for B16B

would i need anything else?

That kit is no longer available and discontinued. I was in this position back early last year when i was looking to stroke my motor. Searched and searched and the stocker kit just didnt seem available anywhere. Didnt wana go through the hassle so i opted for a complete B18CR engine.

Part exchanged my B16B for the low miler B18CR and got it fitted in 1 day. Job done, shes still running strong up till today.

Some people have gone down the stroker route, But i managed to do the full conversion at a total cost of £550 :)
