2011-07-09203351.jpg

so i intend to start by sorting out a problem or two for a start its overheating and not idling properly so weather permitting im going to be replacing a radiator and thermostat (thanks to oifovo for the rad) to hoperfuly sort out the overheating and get the antifreeze in for winter

anyway after that im planning on doing some lip work (got my ek9 rep ones here)
IMG-20110922-00065.jpg

and also some wind deflectors from my good friends at team heko :D
IMG-20110922-00066.jpg

also planning on getting a ek9 rep grille and spraying and angling another spoiler (thanks again oifovo)

got my benen rear tow hook in purple for the giggles
GlasgowCity-20111205-00294.jpg

and then a back box which is cheap and cheerful since the one the now is blowing
IMG_9259.jpg

also got my 6000k hids and my sub which will be a struggle to get in the boot because of the trolly jack and stuff from work

then a respray at the end since that is what will cost me the most, recon im looking at around 1500 for it probs more
but il get pics up of it in the snow and then in a few months after iv cleaned it
anyway iv probs forgot stuff because iv been watching top gear whilst doing this , thoughts questions and opinions welcome as always
cheers,
kieran

Nice wee civic buddy! IMO, change the wheels, they are waayy to big. Also the headlights, might want to do EK9 rep like spray it black. You've got the front lip so its fine and a rear lip will look nice as well!! :nice:

So to summarise what I think you should do is to have:
-Smaller wheels
-Painted headlight surroundings to black instead of leaving it red
-Colour coded front and rear lip

Just my opinion though :) You should do whatever makes you happy :)

Good luck mate! :nice:

Welcome to the forum mate! Nice base you have there are also facelift which I like better, your now with me in the facelift ej9 club, there are plenty of us on here :nice:

As said the wheels and lights should be sorted, dont like them too much myself. Get yourself a nice set of 15's on the go. Personally I don't like the pre-facelift style fogs on the facelift.
Enough of the negatives though buddy lol Car looks very clean and got yourself some shinny new parts there, bet you cant wait to get the license through :)) I like the grill aswell suits the car well

good luck!

I really like the front grill with red Honda badge, looks really nice! And actually I like the fog lamps too! But I will join the others - please change the wheels for some 15's or maybe 16's if you want to go big. On that note I also have a set of cheapo Fox 15'' alloys with tyres from my EK3 in case you're interested :D 2 tyres pretty much new 2 around 4-5 mm, you can have the whole lot for £70 which is less than what I paid for the 2 new tyres :)
Personally I would not respray the whole car, it's going to cost an absolute bomb! You're better off saving your pennies for the future, you will see that once you've gathered some experience and with couple years NCB behind you may well be in the market for an EK9 and the money saved will come in handy! But that's me, talking my shite @ 28 years of age, 10 years ago I would have been talking respray too lol
Anyway, good luck with your mods and keep us posted!

Looks a crack clean car you got Bud, I'd say the same need smaller wheels on there.

Welcome! Nice car, only I'd change the wheels. Smaller would look better imho, handles better and will make the car faster. Also, you really wanna spend 1500 on a paint job?? I mean, that's more than the car is worth. Save the money for something else, like an EK4 or EK9 in the future or an engine swap, better brakes etc. Or a good set of coilovers. Those are parts you can take off and sell again to get some money back when you want to sell the car. A paint job of 1500 quid will probably not get you more than 200-300 extra at sale.

cheers for the feedback guys . Aye color coded bumpers are on the way and im looking into smaller wheels im thinking 16"s, im at 17 the now and im thinking 15 are too small but well see.
The fogs i thought were just ones the guy stuck on and there not even working though i was looking at a set of yellow facelift fogs off ebay so im tempted, Headlights are a pain in the ar*e to get tried scrappys all around and ebay sent me pre facelifts until i finally got facelift ones that were sh*t quality so iv gave up and just sorta started liking them :p

not bad just not fan of the colour coded headlights but each to their own  btw what lip is that on it? looks pretty cool!

15's are def not to small mate, nice set of 15's and a set of coilovers and ull be rockin buddy. also you dont need new headlights you just need to take the ones you have off stick them in oven to soften the glue and separate the lense

looks good mate as said a nice set of rota slips and coilies and will look even better mate :)

i had a look at these slips you speak of and well . . . . I WANT :D:drool:
only thing is im skint but much would i expect to pay for a set of these in 16" ?

just an update here finally passed my test with 2 minors so now im out on the road i started doing some work, over the past few days iv been spraying the rocker cover started out i think the guy had just primered it when it was on the car :nono: so aff with the old a fair bit of sanding priming and then the final piece :woot:

Congraulations Bud , you got your insurance sorted out yet ?

cheers mate, got it sorted with esure but there still bendin me over for it though, bit im on the road so im happy :drive::win:
what happened to your civic btw bud not seen it in a while ?

Good good ,

Mines is in the process of being broken down for parts, ran in to more problems with it :(. But hopefully there will be another Civic in the near future Lol

Like it pal

looks exactly like mine minus the spotlamps and laguna splitter.

I then bought the grille that you have, left it black for a while then attempted to spray it red, but it didnt match the pinky/red car :( so i put the old one back and sprayed that black with a red H.

What other plans you have for it?

just a wee update here, had a sunny day so got to work with the front lip
ripped off the old lip and put on what i was told was a facelift lip until i lined it up i realised it was far too wide at the grill in the bumper ( unless iv done something horribly wrong )
heres a wee pic of the old one off and the new one about to go on
attachment.php

had to get a bit handy with the stanley blade to do the facelift conversion :naughty:

and here it is with the new lip on
attachment.php

now all thats left is to do the back lip tomorrow night

so far the plan is to mabye get a set of facelift fogs for the bumper and get it sprayed, was quoted £650 for the job which was including color coding the trim, but im wanting a spoiler of sorts just to set it off

throwing up a minimal update so here goes,
ek9 rear lip attached, was a bit of a tight fit compared to the front and a bit of chopping for the exhaust but im really pleased with the results, also now that theres more black on red im liking the look of it all

well all but the stock spoiler, but im low on funds so if anyone knows about a nice spoiler for a decent price feel free to tell :nice:
i was going to angle the stock one but iv been told stories about water leaking in and brake light blinding people
