Rit lads my mate bought a civic lately and its a 1.4 on the book full ek9 conversion interior the lot and it has being insured by the previous owner by the same company my mates with so all he has ta do is give the registration plate and they have the engine details(1.4) but if the cops pull him could they do anything as its not insured properly??

Thanks :nice:

He's not insured simple as that! Advise him to get it sorted pronto. It will cost him but it will cost him more in the long run...

Well long and short of it is all he will be buying is a piece of paper as in the event of a accident happening the insurance will be void not worth the chance insure it right.

its as good as having no insurance at all as ijwhiteman said i would get it sorted ASAP

He's 17 not long on the road provisional not a hope in the world would he insure it properly they'd laugh at himl and he would be third party anyway so would only cover people if he ever crashed into some1. I agree with ye lads but could the cop's do him over for it??

Thanks

He should declare it end of story! It's people who give false insurance details which causes the rest of us to have high premiums...Ie those of us that are honest

Thanks any1 know for sure?? could he not say he didnt know as he is only giving the registaration plate to the insurance company??

The cops can do him for it. He is driving without insurance basically.

As for the "I didn't know" answer, it would not stand up in court. If he cannot insure the car then he should not of bought it in the first place.

they will do him for frauding the goverment on the tax, funny but true! he'll be done 4 driving with no insurance,, i know cos they tried to do it to me so i had to get log book and everything changed over

if/when he crashes no matter who is at fault he will be responsible because he is nnot insured properly. therefore has no insurance so will most likely be charged for driving with out insurance. tax fraud and not declaring modifications. i dont think any 17 year old could handle the hp of a b series it takes experience

you make out they are a supercar lol i had a tuned b series in my 1st car and i am a girl then a 2.2vti 5th gen lude havnt had a crash been driving 2 years now and will be driving a b20 vtec SiR in next couple of weeks thats a **** comment lol.

when it comes to insurance you should declare it but theres alot who dont its down to your mate to decide.insurance companies will try find any excuse to get out from paying

If i recall correctly both you insurance and taxt will be both void as they are both under it being a 1.4 ,as far as i know tax on a 1.4 is cheaper and as for insurance it will be 100% void.

So thats driving without insurance & minor tax fraud??

Easily a ban of some length and a hefty fine ( + any damange costs) i would have thought.

Simply put he shouldnt have bought the car if he wasnt prepared to legally declare it :angry2:

no, no, no, advise against it, the guards (Irish po po) pulled me over last week, i have an sir but right now it doesnt have any badges like dohc stickers, sir or honda signs. They had me on the side of the road for 30 minutes while they check what car it is and what car I insured it as. They were a right pain in the ass, but at the end i drove away laughing :))
Insure it as it is for the peace of mind. :nice:

In what way is he makig it out to be a super car? You can't honestly believe that most 17 year olds are capable of handling almost 200bhp just after passing there test? I'm glad they can't afford the insurance, it makes the roads safer for the rest of us. Also if he crashes into someome else his insurance will not cover them either

What has being a girl have to do with driving a fast car (in all seriousness)?

When a young person can't "handle it", it means they will most likely overestimate their ablilites and cause an accident, this is a proven fact.

Alot of young drivers tend to show off to their mates, family etc that they can drive and think they can drive fast.

Just because you haven't had a crash doesnt mean you are a good driver (not slating your driving skills).

Even the best of drivers crash because they have overestimated their ablilties, just like at F1, touring cars, rally etc.

If all young drivers, drove responsibly then insurance companies won't have to keep raising premiums.

Rite lads thanks for the advise but i dont agree with ya on saying when ur young ya cant handle power my brother had an evo at 18 and never crashed it but agree that u think your better than you are at driving when ur young!! Thanks again

I bet he has never gone past his limits or even the car's limits (Don't try on public road). As long as your a responsible driver then there should be no problems.
