insuring a ek9 as a 1.4???

What has being a girl have to do with driving a fast car (in all seriousness)?

well he was saying just because he is 17 mean he cant handle a ek9 lol that means that i couldnt handle it when i past my test at 18 and had a high tuned b series eg? thats my point

the comments on here are so funny about someone who just past there test cant handle a 200bhp civic its a joke its not like there a 500bhp rear wheel drive supra etc and not all young drivers are the same?

yeah i agree mods should be listed but alot are not up to the owner.kay

Dont take me up wrong here i know their a seriously fast car like ive took it for a blast a few times but a little getting youst ove and ya'd be laughing! all my friends have sir's and type r's that are drivin so i think a little sence and ya'd be sound.

in a nutshell your mate can insure it as a 1.4 if he wished and he has a slim chance of being caught but i would strongly advise against it. if he crashes or hits or kills someone or even if someone hits him and it goes through the insurance he is going to get royally ****ed big time.

Just to put it into prospective for you i have a mate who had a 1.2 clio and he didnt declair lowering springs and a backbox and he got away with it for years but one day he came home to find someone had smashed into the side of his car but had kindly left a note of his details so he could get in touch. so it went through the guys insurance and the garage was getting ready to fix it but they cleaverly phoned the insurance company and asked about the mods only for them to realise that no mods were declaired. this meant that the garage refused to fix his car and his insurance company voided his policy once they found out that mods were not declaired meaning that he will strugle to get anyone to insure him now and anyone that does is charging a horrific amount of money. also you can be done for fraud if your insurance comapany wanted to.

So, who wants a wager that this guy is going to ignore all the advice, do it anyway, crash and get banned for a year and be restricted to driving 1 litre shitboxes for the next 5 years because his premiums are so high?

I am willing to put money on it.

(On a serious note, Con1SiR, the best thing you can do is make a very real threat to grass him up to the cops / his insurers. He'll think you are a prick, but it'll save his license and someone elses money in the long run)

if he gets pulled over for a random check or anything and cops see it not a 1.4 they will take the car off him and crush it. then take him to cort and do him for no insurance and anything els they can. it just happend to my mate

Ya lads thanks for the advice ill keep nagin at him!!
He will prob sell it so if he does lads ill throw up a thread some1 could grab a nice cheap car,,:nice:

no, no, no, advise against it, the guards (Irish po po) pulled me over last week, i have an sir but right now it doesnt have any badges like dohc stickers, sir or honda signs. They had me on the side of the road for 30 minutes while they check what car it is and what car I insured it as. They were a right pain in the ass, but at the end i drove away laughing :))
Insure it as it is for the peace of mind. :nice:

agree with this, not worth the hassle if he gets caught.. the only thing is that if he rings up insurance now to change it over to a type r from 1.4 they might not be to happy for not saying anything earlier!! Thats what i think anyways..

you're mate is what we like to call a "wanker" if he gets pulled or has a crash he will be uninsured, liable for any costs and likely to get a criminal prosecution.

yes it can be done and it will be reasonable to insure . if he gets caught he cant clain he didnt know because that just wont fly in a court or with the gards , huge difference in sheer size and look of engine not to mind performance . chances of getting caught depend on where-abouts he lives , in wexford every civic gets pulled over with a lad driving it at some stage . oh and he would be up on charges of ( possibly ) fraud and no insurance while driving if he got caught so definite ban at least .

If you cant afford to insure it you shouldnt buy it. The insurance is almost worthless in event of an accident, however at least by having it any 3rd party will be covered, you however wont and you will be taken to court by the insurers for costs and get charged with fraud.

Unless the cops stop you first - in which case they will impound the car & maybe even crush it - which I hope they do!!!

hes not insured simples...

at 17 and only just passed there test they shouldnt be driving it, if you cant get insured that obviously means for safety of yourself/over people you shouldnt be driving this car yet!

EPIC FAIL!! Thanks for making our SENSIBLE and LAW ABIDING drivers insurance go up! mines gone up from £320 to £420! and thats with 10yrs no claims. I think the driving age should go up from 17 to 19. with 2yrs to properly learn how to drive
