Information About EK Sway Bars *USEFUL INFORMATION*

Harder bushings like urethane and hard rubber offer less comfort, less deflection and changes in camber and alignment through a turn. Spherical bearings, while they of course can't be used everywhere offer even less comfort and no lateral or vertical movement. Both these options will make your suspension feel much more responsive.
But again I don't recommend urethane.
Brand new OEM will feel comfy and "sprung" because it's new.
Just try to find a brace locally, and don't rule out having an EK9 subframe welded on. This option is even stronger than the ASR, not that most need it.
Are you running stock springs or something stiffer? A giant rear swaybar on stock springs, even with the ASR brace, will sometimes tear out.

Thanks! Not stock springs, I have Tein Basic coilovers on at the minute, not the hardest but much stiffer than stock! I am doing my best to source a brace locally, but not having a great deal of luck, if may contact Jap Performance Parts and enquire about the EK9 subframe! I will let you know how I get on, thanks very much again! :nice:

Oh and one last thing, anywhere you would recommend to buy hard rubber bushings and spherical bearings?

for overall quaity and value for money hardrace bushings are great option, i think mfactory in u.k now is dealer for them so easier to get, otherwise a seller on ebay has them

Nice one iceman! :nice:

Can I weld this over my original subframe? And will this mean I won't need an ASR brace?

Would it not be easier to just bolt the ASR piece on rather than cutting off the old subframe and welding on a new one? That seems like a much harder job than it needs to be?

Yes it's much easier to bolt on an ASR brace. But if you want to use a large sway bar like 22mm+ along with softer spring rates, like stock, then an ASR brace has the chance of tearing out.

Aye, but finding an ASR brace in the next week or so is looking unlikely.....might just have to wait! :(

What is ASR? Is it a make or does it stand for something? Sorry for this newbie question.

A Spec Racing. They make sway bars, braces, and endlinks.

Joshm88 what's your hurry?

It's not a major hurry, just had got my ITR ARB's ready to fit, don't want to fit the front with the stock rear! And going on a drive at the mcr-vtec meet on sunday, fancied it done before then, not looking likely now, nevermind!

I have a 96 HB CX and was wondering if I have to swap out the lower control arms to accept a gsr sway bar.... would it be easier to get the ST Sway bar made for the CX? And ASR for the rear.....

yes, it would be easier to just get the ST bar, its what i have, much cheaper and works great.
