im thinking of movine to the uk. i have alot of heritage from there. and a slight idea of how life is. can you guys tell me the pros and cons of living there? and places i might want to live. my grand father grew up in bathe, england? nice place?
and what about the irish country side.
would the uk be a good place to live or just visit.

It's not without it's problems mate, but honestly it's not really as bad as we all make out. Bath, as far as I know, is a very nice place. I have a few friends that live there and I get the impression it is a very arty, bohemian kind of place. I could be wrong though.

What sort of lifestyle are you looking for?

Bathe? Or bath?

Bath is lovely, steeped in history, with great architecture and shops. It's more a rural town than anything else, a bit city-ish and a bit countryside-ish :p My gf lives there and she loves it.

As for england, if I was you, I would fly straight over it and land in New Zealand

Bath is very nice but quite expensive, i live in bristol which is about 20/30 mins away i live in quite a nice part but the rest is quite scabby. if you were to move to england i would recomend cornwall i think its the nicest place in england.

worst thing about england is the weather its appaling we have had pretty much no summer for the past 3 years!!!

could always come over for a long holiday travel around the country see which bits you like wouldnt take long or cost to much i dont think.

id take a long vacation here then make a decision, stay with family etc, i personally dont think the next few years is good time to move here with economic climate

u.k has changed a lot of last 10-15 years, a lot for the good but prob more for the worse imho

it was good when you were a kid, but TBH for average working adults there alot to complain.

and I didn't noticed the good change, only the bad ones.

if you are rich then its all ok i guess.

Edit* London is sooooo overrated!

UK sucks, VAT is the highest, fuel is a joke (well we have better octane ;)). Insurance is a joke. You're better off staying where you are IMO.

"US of A... greatest country in tha world!"

True... only UK and AU has medicare(health care). Also you still get paid even though your jobless.

Also you receive $5k for every child you have.

And first home buyer grants 15-20k or around that.

My father is stationed in Ft. Carson.....and I'm getting out in October 2010. I can't wait!!! I have been considering moving elsewhere also....but we'll see.

regards healthcare, thats one of the good points i meant but has demised considerably over last 15-20 years

i live in one of biggest cities in u.k, in my locality there used to be 3 major hospitals, there is now only 1 which struggles to cope but we do have unique healthcare system but remember we have 1 of highest rates of taxes in the world so we do pay for it in a way

main problem here now is were on border on being over populated V resource uk has to suppport itself, u.k got to where it is over last few 100 years and became so succesful/powerful by lot pf bad means, these means now are minimal so on its own its struggling very bad

well as far as health care i got it made for the rest of my life 100% covered by the usarmy. but idk if i can go to the military hospitals in the uk?!?
also how is the economy. i will deff need to get a job.
and i was thinking small town outside of a big fun city.
how are the women there?
and how are the roads!?!?!?
car laws?
**** like that

uk is far to small for the amount of people in it. to many people coming over here. half of poland is in scotland now. and far to many illegal immigrants. but id rather stay here than some of the **** holes that ive been to round the world

Roads - Dismal mostly, you'll not be wanting to lower a car more than 30mm in most places and there are a LOT of speed cameras, although that might not be any worse than where you are.

Women - Trashy mostly, single mums with 3 kids living on benefits, but there are a few gems dotted about. :nice: (Sadly those few are in high demand.)

Car laws - Pretty good mostly, compared to a lot of other countries we have it pretty good (speeding enforcement aside). There is a bit of a clampdown in my area on cars with noisy exhausts but I've had no trouble, I can only assume there are focusing more on people actually being a nuisance. Emissions tests at MOT time can be a pain for anyone with a decat pipe, but other than that, everything's pretty good!

Jails are good, plasma tv's, footy, drugs, whatever you like really. Just a big ****ing holiday camp.

Oh and if you kill someone you'll be out in about 10years probably

well thanks everyone.
how are the collages there?
and what about speed shops for tuning?
parts stores?
concerts?
beer?
soccer?
that kind of stuff.
and where are good small towns to live in?. places clost to bigger towns?
