After 6 months of searching I have landed a 50,000 dollar a year job! My car build can begin anew! I can't even begin to tell you how thrilled I am. Especially in these times I'm floored that I got a job that I had so much competition for. In due time the car will be getting ripped apart and restored. NO MORE RUST.

Ooooo can't wait to see what you have instore for us :)
well done on the job mate :)

congratz

whats the plans?
Removing everything off the chassis. Repairing the engine bay holes, removal of sound deadening, repainting the whole chassis...inside and out. Installing (welding) a CTR rear subframe onto the car. CTR 5 lug conversion (for the rim options and brake options...not because it's "JDM")...and a few other goodies.

Congratz man :nice: im in the same situation myself atm out of work for near 6 months now..its driving me crazy!!! i bet its good for the self esteem to finally get back on track.

I know the feeling man. I was out of a job for about 6 or 7 months and finally landed one almost 2 months ago. Of course, mine is just a piddly part time job as a "Mobile Parts Pro" (Delivery Driver) at Advance Auto Parts so I don't make much but it's more than nothing. At least I got assigned the brand new truck. Apparently none of the other drivers like Fords and I do (to an extent) so I got it. I even picked it up from the dealer.

sounds like its going be good,

we demand lots of pictures!
There will be pics...I don't know when I'm going to commence my build but it'll be after I have a decent amount of monies saved up so I can do most of the build in one shot. The body work, paint, and cleaning up and powder coating the parts I'm going to keep is going to be the most costly. After those things it's going to be little stuff.

Like you said and the guy above you...the feeling of finally getting a job is such a moral booster. 2,000 dollars a paycheck (before taxes) is a decent number.

Damn. I could pay rent, insurance, cable bill, electric bill, and buy most of the components to my new gaming PC build with that. My pay checks are about $310 every 2 weeks. Of course, I'm still supported by my parents too. They buy my groceries and pay for college.

I'm buying the parts for my new rig one at a time once I have the money reserve built up a little. I can't build my car on this budget. I can only keep it running.

I don't take what I'm going to be recieving lightly. I plan to save heavily but I will be building the car, new computer, and buying disc brakes for my mountainbike. I'm also going to Egypt in January for a year...that'll be a HUGE opportunity to save money (it's a military deployment).

Congrats, you mind me asking what is it that you will be doing?
I'll be working as a Maryland National Guard State Technician. Our main supply depot, main vehicle maint. shop, and main electronics repair facility is all in one location. I applied for a HazMat Supply Management job. Basically all the oil, fuel, solvents that come inbound I'll distribute and all the same outbound (used) I'll package up and send out. I'll also be dealing with electronics and used vehicle parts. Believe it or not the US Military stopped throwing away EVERYTHING. Even though I'm infantry, electronics technician, and a vehicle mechanic I was able to nail this job.
