For those interested in DC5 vs ek9 performance

i no this is about the vid you put up but at snetterton at the HOT day the ek9s and other civics seemed to be eating the dc5s.they just looked slow and reserved.definitely more of a fan of the ek9 and its general amazingness!!! dc5 is a beautiful car though.

Can't wait to over take you at the ring in 3 weeks :win: 8.50? go faster in me saxo! haha
"just banter"

I have been up against a couple DC5s on track, pretty much neck and neck with my EK9. Can always tell the DC5s have the edge, once the 9 is in forth you can clearly see the DC5s starting to pull away then catch them again under breaking, its the same against EP3's neck and neck till top end.

Haha could of gone quicker, but only had 6dry "ish" laps, then rained whole weekend lol.

i duno.... I've been in Arfans Dc5 and its quite quick, av drove Matthews b18 ek

i'd say about on par....

only one way to find out:)

I work with 2 lads with dc5's there's are defo stronger top end then my 9 but rolling start my 9 is the same. better handling with my 9. the dc5 has bc coilovers, camber set up, buddy club cat back, tegiwa mani, k-pro, gruppe m. my 9 only has tein coil overs. guess whats better from the factory!

Ace!

id kill for a dc5 over my SiR, dc5s just look so much better in my eyes, probably **** loads more comfortable. my SiR rattles like a maracka and it does my head in.

It not all about the car really, the driver skill has a massive part to play in it

Modern cars are chunky and heavy - older cars are lighter and more agile

The DC5 may be slightly quicker from the factory stock vs stock but whats the point of being faster in a straight line? What does it prove?

None of this "through the twisty's carry on either"

For me its about the quality of the drive - the feel of the car - the way you can feel what your four tyres are doing at every one moment - how fast you can turn in.

Older honda's are notorious for rattling cabins - with some effort / patience and good hearing you can stop all of them.

While you drive your DC5 (faster than an EK9 or not) i'll enjoy the drive so much better in an EK9.

thats a fair point/opinion but i will find out for myself. if it isnt that great, ill sell my future dc5 buy a RX ek9 and have change for mods :)):)):)) haha

dc5 is a good looking car but really honda was making great cars back then...
k swap in ek9 is the best mod i has it cons but i would go for it any day !

I do like a nice DC5 , white black or red :D

I like them in any colour.
You don't like blue?? Heres a couple of pics of my old blue DC5.

ek9 all the way!!! av got nothin against DC5s,just personal preference....

Out of the factory a dc5 needs several mods to be on par, handling wise, with an ek9 (and even a dc2).
For daily use it's more modern and easy to live with.
With simple bolts on you're looking at ~230 and with a kpro & tune, it's possible to get ~260 depending on the tuner.

Having owned a dc5 and driven a standard b16 ek9 I would have to say I prefer the dc5 purely for the k20 and its low/mid-range torque. It doesn't look half bad either :))
