Teg 4.78, as 4.9 is more track orientated. Should get it for £250ish.

Is this ok for everyday driving because i use my ek9 to get around ?

perfectly fine. You might find that you even get better mileage per tank because you need to use less throttle to reach and maintain a cruising speed.

Of course if you're heavy with your right foot... well... that's another story :p

FWIW, I drove 1,200kms with my 4.785 final with an average speed of probably 140-150kph.

So do you think the 4.785 would be best for me ? Does anyone know where i can get a good 4.785 final drive from ? Has anyone got any feedback on this setup ?

cheers
Rich

Check out RVM's sticky in this section 4.4-4.9 for more info :nice:

got a mfactory 4.9 sittin waitin to go in hmmmmm.... can`t wait:p:D

Does anyone know the difference between teammfactory 4.785 pro and the non pro?

If you're NA, the Street is more than enough for the job :)

If you decide on the OEM 4.785, you will also need the '98 1st Gear, Distance Collar and Needle Bearing. This would put the total cost in the realm of aftermarket, so you may as well go for a higher durability forged item (which doesn't need the additional items) ;)

Mfactory, how much is your 4.785 Final drive for EK9s?

also would it whine?

Price in UK is £389.98 inc vat & shipping

Yeah, it will whine slightly as the teeth are semi-helical cut, rather than full helical like oem.
