Goodmorning ppl,

EK9 with B18c but with B16b tranny
spec. - Feel's 4-2-1 manifold, cat-back exhaust (Cat still on)

VS

EK9 with B16b engine and tranny
spec. - DC Sports 4-1 manifold, Cold Air Intake, Common (Tenzo-R) backbox, Skunk2 Coilovers, Fidanza Flywheel and MFactory's Close Gear Set (3,4 & 5th)

Which woul you think is better in a drag race?

Cheers:nice:

without the gearset the b18c should win, its hard to say with the gearset, i think the b16b should win...

Both are very close. Whoever gets the better launch (and doesn't miss a gear) will win :)

ooof sounds like a good race, get a vid up of that !!:D

Just to be clear, the first engine is not a stroked B16B but an ITR engine.

Sorry but I can't take a vid, as only one person is allowed in a car :/

B16B is a destroked B18C, whats the difference?

i know that SPOON stroker kit uses 81.25mm pistons opposed to the stock 81.00mm. Slightly more CR.

i would go for the b16b with the gear set. want to see a vid when it happens

I dont think it matters which engine you choose, there basically the same engine with slight differences but I would definatly choose a 1.8 over a 1.6 by either stroking the 1.6 or just dropping a 1.8 in. :)

And yes I know they rev better as a 1.6 but after having both engines in 2 EG6's at the same time I definatly prefer the 1.8 because of the torque improvement which feels so much more than it sounds on paper.

For daily driving its soooo much nicer to have a 1.8, in the B18c Eg6 @ 3000rpm you were actually moving quickly and I was able to overtake cars safely without even using any v-tec :D

I soooooo DAMN agree with you!!!! So many people think "bah, not much difference between B16B and B18C" my ASS! Just wait till they've tried it.

Well, do you guys want to know?

I soooooo DAMN agree with you!!!! So many people think "bah, not much difference between B16B and B18C" my ASS! Just wait till they've tried it.

First of all, I'm not trying to spark any battles here, I love Hondas and both engines are exceptional!

Well here goes.....

Last week I was running 195/50 R15 tyres and the car felt quite good but I was advised to run a higher profile, and so I did. I replaced my Toyo Proxies with weared out Bridgestones 205/50 R15. The car felt rather good on saturday.

On Sunday, my cousin (EK9 w/B18c) beat me by about a car's length.

BUT, the funny thing is, he also raced a Toyota and he lost by about a car's length. Now last week, when I was running 195/50 tyres I drew even with this toyota (no difference at all).

I'm going back to 195/50 tyres this week and race him again. I won't say anything about who has won, but you do the math....

What sort of toyota is this?

Well, its my brother's toyota, a Corolla II with a 4efte(glanza) engine. Fuel and boost tweaked etc.. Very fast car.

Oh and btw, you don't have any idea how much these engines (4efte) are abused here in Malta.
