EK9 Racecar

Time to relocate the radiator mounts.

I cut into the lower front pannel to enable the radiator to sit lower, I'd say it's 1.5- 2cm lower, this way the rad fits nicely just under the upper part of the front pannel.
Not sure if this is what you're supposed to do when fitting a dc2 rad to a ek9, but made sense to me.

Got to say thanks to my boss for letting me borrow his little portable mig.

I'll get the rack fitted back on and Then I'll start painting again.

Also got one coat of silver on the block.

Nice work on the bay, what did you say these were again?

The small ones are some blanks that I had on an new Abs pump that I fitted at work.
The larger ones are just the unions off the old pipes that I welded up.
You could do the same with the small ones too.
It does mean the PAS pipes are scrap once you cut them off, but I wasn't bothered as it is never having PAS on it again.

So as a lot of you guessed, I'm doing a turbo build.
Excited doesn't come close to my emotions when this package arrived today from Go Autoworks.
I'll let the pictures do the talking.

I haven't unwrapped everything I.e boost pipes etc cause I don't want them to get damaged but you get the idea.

I'll do more detailed pictures of the parts as they go on the car.

But damn I'm so excited!

My clutch also arrived today! So that's off to the balancer.

Great feeling isn't it!
Your next great feeling is seeing your own engine you built on the dyno smashing out some power!

Nice haul of parts! Exciting times.

I have to admit I've always been a bit anti turbo, but lately I've been coming around to the idea of it the more builds I see.

Look forward to seeing this finished

My main concern was from a drivability standpoint. I can say that a low boost setup us easily driveable. Modulation in the throttle is good and with a decent setup the response is pretty crisp considering. It's no na in that respect but it's not way as bad as some make out

Thanks man, I was the same but likewise seeing the builds on here and talking to people about it made me go for it.
I'm learning so much and loving it.

Amazing feeling!
Mate I can't wait, hopefully all goes to plan.
