>>ek9 daily road/track build up from the start<<

Does the demon-tweeks heat barrier have adhesive backing?

The standard Type-R clutches seem to cope well on the track and I haven't heard of any problems yet, on the other hand I would never use an exeedy clutch again after a stage 1 failed on me after 1 trackday and a few thousand miles!

What does CC stand for with the clutch you mentioned, If my Type-R clutch fails I would consider an uprated clutch, do you know of any bad effects of a 6 puck clutch like access wear on the flywheel??

Ill have to find out about the adhesive backing as i was gonna buy some for mine, as for bad effects it occasionally judders in traffic but normal driving i havent found a side effect yet. with a brand new flywheel id hope itll atleast last as long as the clutch haha :nice:

amazing build so far, very clean

i always prefer track cars then show cars

Thanks for the comments, I have a few updates.

I wanted more damping and height adjustment with my suspension so even tho I had a very good damper/spring setup I decided to go for full coilovers. With some advise from stevenEK9 I decided to go for the Buddyclub n+ kit and after having them in for 2weeks now I absolutely love them, even with the high spring rates they still absorb the bumps well but it is a very stiff ride and I have them on the softest setting atm for road use.

Also purchased a new Recaro pole position fixed seat with a buddyclub super low rail. Seat feels very track focused and makes the driving position completely different which I like. I will have to take a few pics of it fitted but these are a few I took before fitting

Glad you like the coilovers, to be honest for the money i can't see much better out there!

Seat looks great too, very nice car you're building

Better acceleration/easier to keep the car on vtec when changing gear. 4.9fd would give even better acceleration but the car would be reving very high in 5th gear on the motorway

Love the Ek9 :naughty: As for the FD, 4.778 S4C is a better combo over 4.9 IMO, good choice

this is such a good build, all the right parts for all the right reasons. Good Job m8 :nice:

Cheers, and you were right about the coilovers they are very good and there wouldn't be a better set out there for the price!! I needed to raise the car up slightly for the amount of large speedbumps in my area but it still sits low enough to look well imo, no need for camber adjusters either at the current height so all I got done after was a 4-wheel alignment and in corners extremely well

Thanks and yea the s4c box is great with the 4.78 fd and it picks up alot better than the 98 dc2 box changing from 3rd to 4th. The 4.9 would be good for acceleration but to much of a pain on motorways

Few more bits planned in the next few months but nothing major so I will update soon

I have a few new updates from my ek9

New brake stopper

Brake stopper fitted along with a new set of blue SFS coolant hoses after my OEM top rad hose had a very small split

I was busy over crimbo while I was off work and gave the car a clean underneath to get rid of any salt

how much and where did you get that safety device half cage from ?

Car looks really good. Still tempted on a cage but it's a big step stripping all the back out. You must of bought the last pair of the pro race wheels as they had none left, will look spot on with those fitted. :)

Cheers! Yea Gorally will sort you out with a cage if you need one

I think I did get the last 2 rims in matt black
